  1. I haven't read all the posts on this thread but there is a body of opinion that "Heartaches away" by Christine Cooper should have been, possibly also Sweet Darlin' by Jimmey Soul Clark
  2. I've always been of the opinion that the music changed come 1968/69, from that Motownesque/Stax-Atantic soul to a more funky protest type. The atmosphere of "we can do anything" got replaced during the Vietnam war by a more somber tone, something that got reflected in the music. Soul as we know it pretty much disappeared as Disco stuff started to arrive, despite the efforts of Dakar, Lizard and Invictus/Hot Wax. The record labels didn't/couldn't adapt fast enough.
  3. I have a vinyl copy like that, thing is it looks like a boot I once had, shame I don't have it to compare. Have to say label looks a bit Mickey Mouse.
  4. RIP James Wright - Spellbinders View full article
  5. James Wright founding member of the Spellbinders passed away this morning. A talented singer and writer James like most of his generation he never saw the financial fruits of his work. He had been unwell for some time and has succumbed to injuries sustained during a fire at his apartment some months ago. James wrote "I need your love" on the magnificent Spellbinders album "The Magic of the Spellbinders". I had the honour of meeting and interviewing him some years ago, he was a real gent that told the most wonderful stories of his time with the Spellbinders (and other groups) he will be sorely missed.
  6. It's a 100% legitimate 1967 release.
  7. I don't think so.......................................... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/291800712989?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
  8. I've seen that too, looks like all demos were without the "A"
  9. An original mint copy of this iconic record. £120.00 including shipping within the EEU.
  10. I hadn't noticed this before, I have 2 copies one has only has "Little Togetherness" and doesn't have the "A" they're both original styrene copies bought from reputable people in the USA when I was there.
  11. US or UK don't mind, not fussed about condition, should play OK though.
  12. Always a good crowd puller
  13. In my "once every ten years" DJ outing I do play it, good ones on UK Immediate seem to go for high prices, I sold one with a repaired centre for more than £200.
  14. This is cute, it says "cut out for use in Juke box"
  15. Yes the Italian issue is an original and legitimate release. That French EP is actually on Columbia and I do believe there's a Belgian DJ who owns a Belgian Immediate pink demo. Surely that's reason enough to want to stay in the EEU ?
  16. Also came out on a French EP, if I'm not mistaken on RCA, I've had a couple of them. Well worth the low price they go for is Junie Russo's version. Good luck.
  17. On original demo at about £100 - 120, the EP, an original about £40 - 50 if with pic sleeve less of not.
  18. Wonderful Belle Epoque architecture in Blankenberge, Belgium.
  19. Taken on the evening of our 35th wedding anniversary from the restaurant looking out onto the beach.
  20. The Coventry Climax engine has some great history, it started off as a pump engine for the Fire Service and got adopted for Formula 1 racing also got put into Lotus road cars.
  21. I sold a rough issue for £300 !! high in any ones language.
  22. See, there you go, trust those matrix numbers
  23. If it's a Monarch pressed example there'll be a delta matrix number, that will tell all.
  24. Just bought one on behalf of a friend, mint at £85.00 so I'm guessing that's a decent price.
