William Cummings - Make My Love A Hurting Thing
I for some reason remembered it being really fast so now I want to find out what that was instead! I'm going to have to dig the comps out too....

William Cummings - Make My Love A Hurting Thing
Not as I remembered it - a head nodder - more like the funk flip of Zeke. Nice vocals though. https://www.allmusic.com/album/ol-virginia-soul-pt-2-r732722

Yes I know it its a super fast funk dancer if memory serves me right - maybe too fast. Not shite though. Similar to Pervis Herder on Inner Ear. It's on one of the Virginia Soul comps. How good would it of been if that was the MMLAHT flip?!

William Cummings - Make My Love A Hurting Thing
Still not talking about a lot of copies in three or so years - compared to some similarly priced records. Whats the flip like Nev?

William Cummings - Make My Love A Hurting Thing
Agreed - one of the very best.

William Cummings - Make My Love A Hurting Thing
Yes i was asking more about the rarity of it rather than it's comparative price. I would say though that more people will know Wc than the instrumental - at least most i've spoken to, but it maybe an oldie in some parts, not sure - but of course vocals will always be coveted more, stands to reason

Which other version do you mean Nev - the country one (obviously bad news) or the instrumental? If you mean the latter its pointless to compare - it doesn't have vocals so its a totally different sort of record really!

A Few Wants: Elois Scott, Just Us, Domestic Five
The other thing on Aquarius is great too. Interesting label!

Think Nev has the very original of the vocal version on Bang Bang?

Bearsy> Will send you full mp3 from my work computer tomorrow mate! As Chalky said its on Hitbound, very slightly longer than the WC, and the vocal is replaced by some real heavy sax work.

I've seen maybe three to four in the last two years - its certainly not easy to find at all - but thats more copies than i've seen of the instrumental which is what prompted the question. Also I think what Soul Salmon is saying is the quantity of WC that SoulBowl had back int he day is probably staying in collections hence its rarity. Just wondered if the same went for Zeke & The Soul Setters?

Did Soul Bowl have the instrumental in same quantities? Been playing it for a while and it always goes down well.....seen more copies of the vocal for sale even though its a grand more expensive!

Footage Of The Regents On Mad - Both Sides
Remember Johnny Weston playing 'I Tried' down at the first Prestatyn I went to maybe 2003 Russ - steam came out my f*cking ears - sounds amazing out... Having said this I think this is a Virginia 45? Still - that whole area of the US and scene made for some blinding records. I think this whole area of 60's soul music in the states is really underated. Looking at the Hey Baby book theres tons of super obscure groups and 45s to be ofund I'd imagine? Anyone got any good stories of Carolina / Virginia finds?

Summits - Never Say No, Going Rate?
Yes me fave by them - Marco put me onto it last year.

Footage Of The Regents On Mad - Both Sides
Always worth investigating US garage info and links there seems to be so much crossover music particularly because of the whole beach / carolina thing....
