Was chatting to Adrian Guite at the Samantha’s reunion very recently and told him about the project I have been working on for the last few years now for the 50th anniversary of the Talk of The North allnighters, With me being way younger than everyone I didn’t even realise who I was talking to and it came up in conversation when I mentioned I was from cleethorpes and then showed him a section of the project about the 80s scene. Hi, I think my motives for posting that flyer has been wholly misinterpreted. The reason I posted it in your post is because it represents a positive reflection of the current state of the soul scene more than talking about dance lessons or themed pubs in resort destinations for British holiday makers or people moaning about what goes on in Bristol. It's a brand new niter, ran by young people from all over the country, who have become friends through following the music at grassroots venues like Swinton, Rugby and the 100 club. I think, personally at least, the whole specialist pilgrimage of traveling to venues to hear a certain type of music is part of what makes it what it is and is weaved into the fabric of the culture that surrounds this scene and its important that there are people who are carrying on those core ethics and traditions without it becoming a reenactment of what it has been.

Yeah totally can see why as well, he is just outright fab though, properly has his own style where most of his stuff sounds similar to the last one you heard which makes it all the more infectious. Might not be the edgiest geezer but he is still touring by the looks of things which is great to see and I’ll bet he still gives it some when he dances, can’t find it right now but there’s that ace video of him dancing on stage.
