  2. I thought that were the new state of the art VPI cleaners
  3. Less than a day left and still way under the £200 mark. Might be a bargain for someone...
  4. ***SOLD*** This one should need no introduction... A quality northern soul classic backed up with a beautiful sweet soul tune. Very rarely do you see a northern double-sider of this quality. The record has some scuffs, especially on the Carlena side, but it's a pretty loud tune and both sides play through very well. I'd give the 'Carlena' side a VG grade and 'She broke his heart' a VG+, but I'd advise you to listen to the full unaltered soundclips of both sides and decide for yourself. If interested PM. I can keep on hold for three days for the first member who PM's me about this one. Price is £700. I'll cover paypal costs and int'l signes for mail to anywhere in the world. Oh and before I go I have to express my gratitude to Xavier for helping me out on this one. I owe you one! Just_Brothers___Carlena.mp3 Just_Brothers___She_broke_his_heart.mp3

Although I'm aware of the fact that the word legend is used a bit too often I gotta say he truely was one of the biggest New Orleans legends who had a big influence on the local soul/r&b/funk sound we all love so much. RIP, your legacy will live on...

There's another Tonetts group that did a 45 as Jackie and The Tonetts on D-Town/Wheel City, so I guess that's yet another different group with the same name. Anyone still keeping count of how much Tonetts there are
  7. Exact same problem here... Don't know hy they're so stupid to do this as it lowers sales/revenue for them.
  8. You mean it won't be possible anymore to opt out? That would be very shitty... I'd sure like to see the genius who set up this new eBay style (and his salary)
  9. As a part of my annual spring cleaning I spent the whole day putting together a huge lot of approx 600 soul, funk and disco 45s. Starting price is under £180, so there's a real chance to pick it up quite cheap. >>>CLICK HERE<<< to check the auction and a lot more 45s for set sale or best offer.
  10. Dunno if it's been done before, but I prefer an across the board selection for a radio show, so my vote goes to the Downtown Soulville show on WFMU. -Every week I get to know at least one tune I didn't know before and is great. -Full tracklists/HQ MP3 downloads always available -Decent radio voice -The best of all styles/values. Good if you're broke but still want to get to know nice 45s that you can afford. Only small downside is the opening tune that's played every week. Decent tuen, just heard it too much by now... So what's your online radio faves?
  11. Well we're both making the same point really, so yes, I see your point. I just don't want to go back to the old sales board style with all the bumping. And if your thread drops too far you can repost sales after 48hrs...
  12. Well sales posts stay up on the frontpage for about 3 days as opposed to 1 day before the new rules were installed. And it's easier to see new sales/pick up a bargain. Ok there's a few pushing the boat out just a bit, bit it's nowhere near as bad as it used to be is it?
  13. Oh yeah just checked. Max 2/3...fair enough I'd say
  14. I agree completely. But even with some guys pushing the boat out by individually listing a bit too much it's still better than the old system imo. Did Mike introduce some kind of rule about a max number of sales topics per day too? Don't remember, but if there's be a max of three that would disable excessive individual listing...
  15. Had a pack (500 45s) off him too. I priced 'em all, and here's how I broke 'em down: I always make 3 piles: one for 3 records (that's about £2,5), one for 5 records (just over £4), and the ones that were worth more (a fiver and up). After doing this I ended up with: -2 boxes filled with 3 records -half a box with 5 records -half a box with records between 6-20, about 10/15 were worth more than 10 Just my 2p to get an objective overall idea...
  16. Looks great mate, inside looks very well done too! Worth every penny
  17. I'll give the guy a few days to change his mind, but after that it's name/shame
  18. Gonna keep trying to solve thru mail, and if I start the dispute I'll keep you guys updated so you'll know what'll happen when you get in the same situation.
  19. Got a strange feeling about this one... Really don't want to go through the whole process of claiming the cash etc. That's why I was so disappointed when it turned out he didn't want to solve it the simple way. Gotta say it's remarkable that the problems around records always emerge when buying from the bay, and never when buying from soul source.
  20. Well it was a lookalike boot, and it was scanned in the sleeve, so it was impossible to see if the label was glued on or moulded in the vinyl. Which has always been the easiest way to spot the boot on that one. Still willing to send it back, but I want my cash back mate...
