Plays very clean apart from a feelable scratch that’s audible during the final third of the record. Visual grade: VG- €750 The Darling Dears – I don’t think I’ll ever love another / And I love you – Flower City 729 What can I say about this record that hasn’t been said yet… Three minutes and forty nine seconds of pure face melting breaks and harmonies. An essential one in my book and only letting this gobecause it’s my (only spare) Visual grade: Strong VG+ €600 Jeryl Brazil – Mean that much / I’ll miss you – Gold Meyn NR 16386 Ultra rare mid-tempo modern boogie. Cool synths and a way better production than you’d expect from a private release from this era. You will not find a cleaner copy. Visual grade: M- €250 Calvin and Clarence – I wanna dance (but I don’t know how) / Money and women – Fairlane 21003 ‘Money and Women’ is a cool driving R&B dancer but ‘I Wanna Dance’ is the pick for me. Situated inbetween Rockabilly and R&B but has a genre-deying haunting quality that makes it stand out amongst its peers. Took a while to get the recognition it deserves but has become feverishly sought after in the last couple of years. Visual grade: VG+ to EX €220 Sweet Pearl – While we are together / You mean everything to me – Leopard Head 2552 Brilliant and unique sounding slice of modern soul. Slight island edge although it’s a Memphis thing. Flipside is a mid-tempo stepper with the same stamp of quality but it’s a bit quieter and has a few audible scratches that can be felt.
