  5. Hello Ian, Test pressings are approved so it's in production and I expect delivery to Phil in about 10 days, hopefully less. Quite a few people looking forward to this one. Paul
  6. Glad to hear someone is having a go at this, making a documentary about how the scene is today and not the usual mid-70s nostalgia trip. I can't be at Bidds, but I hope it goes well. All the best to your son and his mates
  7. I'm pleased to say the test pressings sound fantastic and the release date isn't far away now. Check with Phil Dick for more info: www.soul-intention.co.uk There's lots of interest in both sides of this 45 so it looks like Phil will have another big seller on his hands.
  8. have 1 spare wristband for sale, won't be there before Friday late afternoon - pm me if you are interested ! Cheers Silke
  9. Typical. It's taken the best part of 25 years to navigate that dancefloor, every bloody loose tile, bump and hole, and now they are talking about changing it ? Please support this noble cause - Save the 100 Club dancefloor !! Great to hear the nighter is safe.
  10. Well, it won't be to everyone's tastes, Len, and possibly for some of the reasons that you mention - it's a 'dance' CD after all and several of the songs and their lyrics reflect that. But any CD containing two dozen unissued Motown recordings from '63 and '64 has got to be worth any serious collector's time and consideration, and really ought not to be dismissed out of hand (however cautiously) without at least being heard - as you say... Ant there are some nice slower cuts in the second half of the CD that are more song, rather than dance, oriented, and that should especially please anyone who enjoys the harmonies of early 60s soul groups. I know I have a vested interest in it, but I like it a lot....
  11. Hmm, not too sure about this and would have to give it a listen before buying, I feel that the period given may result in the groups novelty era that Gordy (wrongly) felt they were only worth, perhaps there are some real gems on it hence him not releasing it, hope I'm proved wrong of course as any Motown tracks from the vaults are more than welcome for me. Lenny
  12. Anyone got a pass for Prestayn please?????????........................ must be invisible as other peeps seem to be getting them even tho I asked first !!!!!! Thanks Sue (07766 548728) Immediate payment of course
  13. I should add that there are also other Motown projects in Ken'ts immediate future - all by artists you'll be familiar with, and all containing several unissued tracks.... ...I'd tell you more, but then I'd have to kill you all!
  14. A 21 year old indie girl I work with told me last week - I'm really into a song like the stuff you like ! - and played me this track off the net !! Made my day - and I'd never heard it before to boot ! The Numero cds are very good tho,
  15. Thanks Sean, As you know, it wasn't easy to decide which track should be the official A side, I like them both equally. It's also likely that the album will be issued on CD this year, not necessarily on Shotgun, maybe licensed out to another label. Best wishes,
  16. Hello Carl, I'll try to clarify which musicians were on those sessions. Obviously I can't ask Mike but Jo might remember.
  17. Just managed to book time off work for the Prestatyn weekender, now all I need is 2 passes, so can anybody help me? I do not need accommodation as I live less than an hour away.
