    PM'd you.
  7. A scan for those who asked.
  8. The Wigan dj's would stop playing a certain track as soon as it is re-issued , booted or custom pressed, but that does not mean that a particular track would not be played at a later date or even a year or two later. I am going on what I heard and saw at the time. John E. Paul was custom pressed in late 76' or early '77? Was this the first time you had heard the track played?
  9. Be nice Pete! Whether referring to as a custom pressing or re-issue the later pressings of John E. Paul were pressed by Decca Records for the Northern scene. I am now told they were pressed in 1975 the same year as the Mickey Moonshine 2nd press.
  10. Not mistaking Moonshine for Paul. Yes Mickey Moonshine was originally pressed in 1974 and re-issued 12 months later. I first heard John E Paul played at the casino in '74. It may have played at an earlier date, but I first heard it in this year. I believe the re-issues were around then and before '76. Need to find the official re-release date.
  11. I heard John E Paul played at the Casino in 1974. I was there and remember it well. The question is, was the record re-pressed in the same year? I thought it was and the reason I asked whether you had the official release date for the re-issue.
  12. WANTED 70S 45 FRANKIE KAH'RL/DON'T FAN THE FLAME-GORDY ISSUE
  13. Do you have the exact 1976 release date for the John E Paul on Decca Pete?
  14. The 1967 UK Decca original of John E Paul has a larger print and the reversed matrix XDR 41387. Most people have the 1974 re-issue with a smaller print in their collections thinking they are the 1st issues.
  15. The most important point to make about UK released 45's is that they are manufactured to a better quality. Certainly better than USA 45's! The majority of the great Soul records where recorded and pressed in the US, but are far inferior to a UK manufactured 45. Not all UK 45's are as colourful, but the grade of vinyl and the detail to the labels (credits etc....), using Decca Records as an example, is difficult to surpass. UK records have always, and still do, fetch a higher price than the US press of the same track. Is this because we are all patriotic or that we all know that the quality is better?
