  1. I never noticed. You're talking about the ballad side right?
  2. Thanks so much, this really really helps and does answer my question. I've been told that the green label print is a different version. I ended up getting a different version (30 seconds longer on the ballad side and the northern side skips on some turntables) but it's the regular black print label. The dead wax you just listed matches the common white label version, so that disproves that at least all of the green label print versions are alternate masters. The dead wax on the alternate version is this: This must be love: Boola Boola X3382 SLS RW You're still on my mind: 1234-8 "StiLL ON My MIND" SLS RW The you're still on my mind dead wax exactly matches on both presses, it's the same plates. So I guess there are just some presses (which you can't tell by label color as they exist on the black print label and *might* exist on the green print label) that have a longer ballad side. These are the presses with the Boola Boola in the dead wax. Thanks again!
  3. Can anyone who has a green print label of the cre-shendos on aquarius, this version: https://www.popsike.com/RARE-NORTHERN-45-CRESHENDOS-on-AQUARIUS/4830157287.html give me details of the deadwax on both sides? I would greatly appreciate it. There are at least two presses of this, I have two presses on the regular label, trying to see if there's a third press. Thanks in advance.
  4. Hi. Today on the Sitting in the Park show I did an interview with two members of the Gary, IN group Love's Children, who cut two singles for Curtom records in 1971. Despite having only a small amount of released material, the group has an incredibly interesting story. They were originally called the Domestic Four and then the Domestics, and recorded unreleased material for Hi, Stax, and Motown. You can listen directly at https://www.sittingin...-2-24-2013.mp3? Joseph Holman, a member of the vocal group, and Glen Ross, a member of the band, were in the studio telling their story. Holman is currently a member of the Milwaukee group Tweed Funk (who are doing a show here in Chicago on March 14th and who have released a couple of CDs) and Ross is a member of the group Midnight Crisis, who also are currently doing shows and who have an excellent unreleased demo that we play during the interview. The interview is very cool and definitely worth checking out. 12. I want to buy a copy this dutch 45. Must have pic sleeve, but sleeve doesn't have to be mint. Please PM. There was a copy sitting on ebay for a while BIN for $60 but I didn't see it until it was too late. One just ended on auction for $30. Would pay $75-$100 depending on condition of sleeve / record. Thank you.
  13. The magic eraser sponge will scrape off the label, I was speaking from experience. Alcohol will also eat the label. However, I definitely think it's worth people trying for themselves on throwaway records to see how fragile the label is.
  14. by "take off" I mean lightly fade btw
  15. mr clean magic eraser is bleach based and very strong and will just take off the paper entirely. tack or flexible art erasers tend to tear the paper. dave's advice is good for ringwear but you have to use it lightly as you will tend to take off parts of the label text that it goes over.
  16. my friend found a copy and sold it to me
  17. no, i had a recording forever, finally got a copy. i don't play records i don't own (mainly because i don't need more competition) but I did play "getting mighty close" off a recording for a MLK / social consciousness show.
  18. Thanks. Although on a Chicago label, I'm like 99% sure that the Delon Washington is exactly the same Milwaukee group as the Enchanters on Tee Pee.
  19. "wait till i get to know you" was a hit
  20. They are just label variations, not bootlegs.
  21. part 2 is online now: https://www.sittinginthepark.com/interviews/inspirations-2-2-10-2013.mp3? thanks, Bob
  22. Hi. My friend is trying to get the final materials together for a Mad Lads documentary, and he's looking for any Mad Lads related candid photos or memorabilia. He needs everything together before Wednesday. If you have anything to offer, please email him at bodiddleyman@gmail.com. Thanks for your help.
  23. thanks, fyi, the whole darn family is a remake of the lead singer tyrone thomas' previous recording as little tommy on sound of soul
  24. I actually assumed it was the same copy being relisted given what looks like the same copy of King Edward and his BDs being relisted.
