  3. Hi Shaun! Enjoyed your podcasts and these are some of my favourites from the two latest shows, the one from July 5 and the one from July 12. Richard Stepp: When We Meet Again (Great to hear that the B-side receives some airplay too) Lo Steel: Music (Ultra-soulful!) Ashley Thomas: Kept On Runnin' (From the modern end of modern soul...LOL... Very nice) Right Direction: Midnight Rhythm (Made many people happy - including me - when this Chicago masterpiece was reissued) The Time: Gigolos Get Lonely Too (One of my alltime favorites, one of the few credible soul ballads from this funk group) The Horn Section: Lady Shine (Often billed simply as T.H.S. Great tune!) Gerry DeVeaux: Front Of The Line (The guy that Angie Stone claims ripped her off, and to blame for the fact that she didn´t make any money from her first solo albums) Heat: Just Like You (Pretty sure I have this one, will have to dig it out now) Jimi Conwell: Mellow, Mellow Me (Just that, very mellow, great soul!) Cheers, Melismo

  9. And it´s on a cheapie album, which is good news of course...LOL... My first two copies of `Music Web´ had some irritating surface noise, but I think the copy I have now plays fine. Will have to dig it out again. BTW, is Alan a member of this forum? Cheers, Melismo

  15. Bobby Bland "Ain´t No Love..." is soul-blues perfection to my ears. The Dreamer album is one album I´ve played oh so many times, a very solid set methinks, with Bobby Bland on top form vocally. Cheers, Melismo
  16. Friends & Buddies, the LP which contains the classic "Keep It Up", originally came out on Alston in 1975, and it had a (vinyl) reissue some years ago. There´s another album too, entitled Spaced. Milton Wright is the brother of better known soul singer Betty Wright! Best, Mel

Front Row - Wanting You Fantastic track and awesome male and female vocals! Cheers, Mel

  20. Those cats are driving me mad. I keep getting those codes wrong. Are you a premium Rapidshare user? If so, it is possible to upload/download files without the "enter numbers and letters attached to a cat" step All the best Melismo

  22. Stevie Wonder concerts are just that - CONCERTS. They are NOT SHOWS. He normally doesn´t bring any dancers, he sits by his piano. He hardly even walks on stage, because he is kind of afraid of stumbling and falling, since he can´t see. He is led on and off stage by staff. So really there´s not a lot to SEE, you can only HEAR his voice and the music, but I must admit that his live versions are much more LIVELY than the studio recordings. And if he decides to speak, he can be very entertaining, he has a great sense of humour, joking about the fact that he´s blind etc. Hope you get a ticket mate. Cheers, Melismo
  23. Hi Colin! Thanks for posting. I´m lagging behind, just found this on my harddrive and took a listen this evening. Cheers, Melismo
  24. I have a couple of recordings by Tracy Warwick and have reason to believe that she may be the daughter of Dionne Warwick, but not entirely sure. Anyone who can shed some light on the matter? Thanks in advance Mel
