Id say im counted as "young blood" and thought id put my 10p worth in... I personally spend 1-2 hours the night before sorting my set out, seeing what goes where and what not before a night that im asked to dj(this always changes when actually doing the set but hey ho) this is oviously based on my experience of what type of sounds are played at the night/area. Then i atleast talk to promoter/dj at time about how each system works as you never know what your playing with. As soon as i get up on them decks the first couple of records im nervous as hell but then the buzz of the whole thing kicks in and BAM! before you know it your sets over and done with. Im forever praticing cueing records and my mic work(as this is my weakest part of me IMO). i always want to improve and get myself out there to show my support to venues and show that I'm available(if they like what i play!!) but at 22 and on sh*t pay i cant always afford to do that so get out when i can. Think thats all, might add to it later

ok my favourite subject the trouble with people on the scene today is many dont travel further than their own doorstep .and tend to have cloth ears nothing new there having travelled the length and breath of this country for thirty plus years supporting any d.j .s with that bit of balls to play new sounds like gilly and the hand full of others at the back end of the casino searling was great along with sam , pat brady and gary rushbrooke, in the 80,s it was firstly mr,s darge ,hennigan,mr crosdall in london jim wensoria etc the last decade and a half has belonged to butch ,andy dyson mick.h .kitch etc trouble is these records dont get heard due to to many venues each week anyway i reckon thgese would have rocked any golden era venue MELBA MOORE " MAGIC TOUCH " MAXINE BROWN " TORTURE " TIARRAS " SUPRISE " APPOINTMENTS " I SAW YOU THERE " THE TEMPTONES "YOU KNOW YOURE IN LOVE " NEW WANDERERS " RENDER MY SERVICE " JEAN CARTER " I WANNA KNOW " DIANE LEWIS " YOU AINT GOT A CHANCE " MIGHT LOVERS " EVERYONES SAYING " CALVIN GRAYSON " LOVES JUST BEGUN " GIGI & CHARMAINES "DONT WANNA LOSE YOUR LOVE " THE CARPETS JUST CANT WIN "MAC STATEN & NOMADS " THERE SHE GOES " THE PRIMERS " HOW DOES IT GRAB YOU " . plus a endless list of other top quality sounds that would put many of over played sounds to rest given the chance. keeping soul real steve

id rather go on the big record hunt than pay a lot of money on one record. its nice to pay out the money for a big record but there is a lot of records that get the crowd dancing all across the country that are less than £200! IMO I think this will go for £28k IMO all the best, 'young Brett'

i dont think it was.... i know it was aimed at the wigan years but there was not alot on it about the scene today, and what records are played today, also what events are running since then and the new big events too. People have been given the impression that we still listen to the same stuff since the wigan days and that we still dress the same too. This is my own opinion. Cheers Brett Smith
