  3. Hi Mace. Yes it was the Northward as i had hired it for my 50th birthday a few years before the incident under different management and they insisted i pay for a bouncer to satisfy the council and police in Crewe and it applies to all venues in crewe. And as far as i'm aware the club lost there license for a single infringement of the law. They did eventually get i license back but they weren't given a music license back so it was the death of the club. The same rules applied at The MMU events that i ran as they were told by the council and police i must have bouncers. The room hire there was £100 but i had to pay £500 in bouncers pay, it was 2 bouncers per 100 people. Regards Brav
  4. I'm afraid its the law at any venue that the Police and Local council enforce upon you, and any venue that has not got bouncers is breaking the law. In Crewe at our local working men's club where we had our Soul Nights, they had hired the room out for someone's birthday party and apparently all hell broke out and the next day they had there licence taken off them because there were no bouncers employed. The club has now closed and been demolished.
  5. Hi Dave. Fastest by Royal Mail is called Airsure and its supposed to be 1 day quicker than Standard Airmail, its also tracked and signed for and insured. It costs £4.50 plus your standard Airmail charge. Dont know how quick it will be as Royal Mail are on strike till tomorrow. Regards. Brav
  6. Yes this was the record that got me into the scene and still think is a fantastic sound. First heard it at Mirrion St Youth Club in Crewe Also the first record i ever heard walking into Wigan Casino about a month after it opened was Darkest Day - Jackie Lee and is my all time favourite record. 19. Hi Bogue Well said mate, have to agree with everything you have wrote. Brav
  20. Looks like Middleton to me
  21. Have to agree with you on that as i found to my own cost with Maxine Brown. There are lots of people who spout off about respect to artists and we must support them, but when it comes down to buying a ticket, thats another thing. I tried and failed this year at my own cost but have'nt given up yet, most people have no idea of the cost and effort that goes into putting a live artist on stage, i did'nt myself until this year and was shocked at the work everyone had to put in just for a 1 1/2 hour show. I have noted some of the Artists down in this thread so keep them comming, you never know who i might get next year !!!! Brav
