  1. you shouldn't worry about that just say what you want to pay as long as its not ridiculous. already here opinion is from 50 to 200 so it gives you a big window to place your offer.

now that has thrown a spanner in the works... any of these any good ?
  3. if that Thomas Bailey doesn't sell its a crime. Thats a great price for one of the best records I have in my collecion.
  4. you certainly can he lets go on that one a bit with his wails of passion. Great recrord. Today I baught Jimmy Castor "Its what you give" which is always listed as "block party" i'm sure a few of you saw that today.

Do legitimate re-issues, boots or even CDs for that matter have an effect on the price of an original pressing that may be hard to find ? So a rare record that could only be heard from the origional vinyl is suddenly very easy to hear. for classic oldies i'd say probably not but when it comes to vinyl that has prehaps a smaller niche market then that might not be the case. What do others think ?

thanks for info I will check out the CD.
  8. this is kind of the reverse of what I said. I've paid a lot of money for deep soul on the flip of northern soul but it was always my belief that the northern side was the one that gave the disc the value ? far more people buying northern is the reason i'd offer.

never kept it. It was one of those auction player jobbies and I still need to get some kind of software onto my laptop to record these. Should get myself sorted as this info needs saving realy for future reference. I have a recorder on my desktop just need to transfer it across.
  10. its not a good thing to have these treasures on the flip of northern sides though as all it does is push the price up.
  11. no need to check you got title right arthur freeman on jumbo has a killer deep soul flip. and sam williams on tower ditto. both reviewed on the internet. and I had and sold loretta williams "baby cakes" jotis before flipping it which was a mistake on my part.

all I know about this is a copy just went through ebay for a lot of money complete with soundclips to download. Must give them a listen soon to see if I like it or not.
  13. Wish this was in your first bootleg guide. I checked that and then made a judgement on the quality of the guys other ebay listings at the time he was selling this. Amongst them was a copy of Thomas Bailey on Federal so I incorrectly assumed this Benny Lattimore was an original pressing. Now i've got to hope I can get a refund. His feedback looks good and he sees to sell a lot so I won't dispair just yet. You can never know enough in this game I would have liked to have asked the same question gareth did while the auction was still live but I don't think its right to discuss live auctions. Should have tried harder to get info away from a public forum but didn't think I needed to.

if you boys start slagging each other off on this forum then then funk forum will cease to exist. After all thats about all its used for although I do prefer the anything goes appraoch on the funk forum a lot more. You have to be a bit more reserved over here.

The rayons on decca is very rare yet there is a copy available on the internet now and has been for a long time. when you compare the price on it to the big ticket northern items its a bargain. And i'd say its also much rarer than a lot of the 4 figure records.

  20. This is a great record and the first thing i'm going do when i get home from work today is dig this out to play the flip. Can't believe I have never listened to it. Got to be a 3 figure price on something like this. Does seem pretty rare.

Got 3 of his LP's they are all essential, think mI might be missing at least 1. So many great tracks to choose on all of them from ballads to dancers. One of the great modern soul artists.
  23. You're busy listing sales. Could have out them all in one post
  24. I did have to mention a ceretain 4-1 Friday night game at their place when he told me who he supported.
