What Must It Be Like To Know Every Soul Record?
It does get a bit boring knowing all the records, I just pretend to not know what I am talking about and practice looking thick when asked about a track. I have my ..."thick as fook look down to perfection now.

Northern Russian Soul The Russian On Ebay
I have been a closet Euro Folk fan for many years, never heard this chaps stuff but I'd love to. The daddy cool of this region has to be Goran Bregovic he aint ever gonna be acceptable in the West but that's half the appeal for me. Here are two of his tracks enjoy, if you can................ ">

Sorry Spirit, I meant to say............... Middleton was never a plaice it was a "haddock"- Why Do You Go Out
First answer because it's a great night out with friends and the chance to hear some new soul music. The second answer is my philosophical answer. 47 years old and semi retired with knees that creek when I walk down stairs. I could take the easy option and go to my local pub or watch other people's lives on TV or I can get off my big fat ex Army arse and taste some life that tastes a lot like my youth. My allnighters start as we are leaving an allnighter, the talk is always of when and where we are going next, its very infectious and quite exiting to have a group of friends with similar tastes. Next up is mid week when most are hitting the doldrums; I am on the phone to Derek planning our next outing. We go through the lists of what's on and I check with my wife to see if it's a green light or not. We look to see who is playing then we decide on a venue and ring around Sheila, Paul and Julie to see what plans are being made. Derek usually drives down from Middlesbrough to my house near Barnsley and hands me the car keys, he's had enough of driving by now so I get behind the wheel. We drive over to collect Sheila who is always immaculately dressed and usually armed with a new CD for us all to sample in the car then its over to Paul and Julie. There are five of us traveling as part of The South Yorkshire Soul Searchers, all very different people with different backgrounds and jobs but tonight we are a family who feel totally relaxed in each others company. From the first hand shake and the slam of the car door the music starts and our time machine kicks in. I may be a dumpy over weight middle aged man who yarps on and on about the Army but tonight I feel as if I am leaving my mum and dads house to do some thing naughty, to be part of the night time world, to become a "Night Owl" .... Again. The journey to the nighter is just a mile after mile giggle with the only person talking sense is the sat nav, allegedly. Our conversations are never too deep, we are not trying to intellectually dissect any political process and we all seam to avoid any controversy out of mutual respect and politeness. We try to remember lyrics from records and try to identify some of the music that made up our youth and defined part of us. After finding the venue we park up and walk over to the mass that has usually congregated outside, not to queue to get in but to shoot the breeze and welcome old and new friends. Once inside we tend to bomb burst and do our own thing not needing to be joined at the hip. Dance, in my mind I am 17 again tearing the floor apart and feeling alive. Every now and again I catch a glimpse of my reflection, its not me tonight, I don't know that little chubby bloke in the daft shorts, I wish he'd go because tonight is mine and for these next few hours I am diving deep into the warm sea of soul music allowing every wave to crash over me. Soon its time for the last record, my legs are in tatters and I feel the cramp reminding me of who I really am but I don't care. Hugs n stuff to mates and we walk, or limp, towards the doors and towards the car that will both take us back to reality and that will also take us back to our special place in a week or two. I suppose that's why I go out.- Can You Identify These 100 Club Dancers?
I think some of the chicks are hot? The one in the white trousers would definitely get it! The chap with the long striped sleeves who goes mental chicken oriental doing his kinda "stomping meets the Russian Cossack dance: is a spit for a young Market Harborough Horrace- Mark Lamarr S.o.s

The chap in short sleeves is off his tits!- Can You Identify These 100 Club Dancers?
I managed to find this old 100 Club clip, can any one id the dancers and some of the tracks taken from one of Ady's Kent albums? ">- Maximes ( Ex Tiffany Night Club In Wigan)
I am not as sad as I thought I would be now that we have moved venues, Middleton was never a place it was an "attitude". I have already been to nighter at Maximes in Wigan and it is a perfect setting for Northernsoul. There will also be a new web site for Maximes in Wigan with all your photographs of the nighters plus a guestbook and youtube clips so the giggles and music can be heard long after the night is all over.- Bobby Hutton - Lend A Hand

Now before we precede a cautionary warning, let's not let this turn into a war zone please! OK fact or fiction? Sammy Davis, Jr. - You Can Count on Me Is it true that this was available via mail order and when received it was an LP 33rpm cut down? Also was there a bit of a fiddle with lists and a lucky bag of records being sent with the small print stating that if the records where not available alternatives would be sent? ">- Bobby Hutton - Lend A Hand
P, In life it is easier to beg forgiveness than permission. The soul scene people whom I call me friends have never been preoccupied with rules? They are decent and honorable people whose moral compasses are set by then selves and as Edwin said, "I have faith in you".- Bobby Hutton - Lend A Hand
Mike and the Mod's this is possibly in the wrong area so I will add some soul content in the hope this will be allowed to stay up here for a while? From the 22nd of June until 21st of July, the Chernobyl Children Life Line's charity will bring child victims of the Chernobyl disaster to the UK for a recuperative break, Carol and I have been privileged to host two ten year old girls from Belarus. The girls are both fit and healthy as in no flippers or radiation poisoning, they just need feeding up for a month on food that isn't contaminated and in the process giving them a holiday break. So what am I after? Well I would like to take them to a soul night in preferably South Yorkshire, we live on the Pennines Tops between Barnsley and Sheffield so Drax, Eggborough, Barnsley, Royston, Sheffield and area would be spot on. I'm not after any thing money wise just a promoter who would allow us to bring two little girls to experience our passion for soul music. Soul content...... I'm a poorman's son, from across the railroad tracks, The only shirt I own is hanging' on my back He can sing what he like for me! Women door staff? Has the world gone absolutely bonkers? I am a Northern man who likes things reet n proper, you do not have women headmasters in Yorkshire schools and you do not have male tea ladies! I watched a program once about astronaughts n stuff, they had a woman go up in space to do cooking and tidying for the cosmonaughts but there was a risk of their wombs blowing up in orbit so the idea was scrapped.- Last Middleton Allnighter
