Colwyn Bay Pier All Nighter
I did the dayers in the early 80's. Did the BH ones used to follow the Friday Wigan Oldies session? As I'm sure I went to Wigan Friday, Wigan Saturday, Colwyn Bay Sunday the next thing I knew I woke up with a cat on me face in that 5.30am half light that you only get in a front room with the curtains drawn. I sat up, removed the cat....I was on a couch in an unfamiliar room, I looked round....there were six people that I didn't know on the floor in the bay window of a house that I had no re-collection of entering, playing 'The Game Of Life'. It was Tuesday, I was meant to be in work in Warrington on the Monday previous - and the killer, I was in Lincoln. Northern Soul ay???

Morecambe Dome
You're probably right, I think I attended three of 'em - always sparce in attendance - I think it had a sports floor, like Hinckley Leisure Centre - Remember Sam doing two of 'em and possibly Dave Evison though my memory is a little shaky. I was going to stick this in the 'Fashion Victims' thread as I remember going there in a trilby, three quarter length bottle green jeans and a matching cap sleeve T - Ouch!! I remember walking over from the pub that did the warm up (anyone??) and it kicking off.

How Much Longer Can It Last?
I run a Sunday do at a bar in the back end of nowhere in Warrington, have done for three years now - and the above examples are very much the road I go down, alongside some Patrice Rushen, Players Association, Webster Lewis etc. There is very rarely a person in there that understands, or even knows the music that is played but it's busy more often than not - and there's always curiosity about the music. I believe you have to give normal people (?) something to get a hold on with soul music, something half obvious occassionally does it, I'm sure you know anyhow, it allows them to make more sense of what's being played. (I hope no ones sucking eggs )
