It was a one-off, honestly! (I'm laughing now thinking about the discussion we had when the idea was first raised - I really do need to get out more)

After 1,000+ Packages Mailed, 2 Have Gone Missing

There really are some absolute cocks in this world e.g. ... I had a very rare (maybe 3 known copies) record sent, unbelievably (on my part and the guy's who sent it) to my old address - I assumed (you'd check wouldn't you if you were me and parting with 1k+ ) that he had my new address since I had moved about 4 years previously. Turns out the bloke at my old place had SIGNED for and OPENED the parcel and, to cheer me up still further, despite putting two notes through his door (stating it was an old 45, here's my number etc etc) and going round there several times - suited and booted from work i.e. I don't think I looked like a dealerf / bailiff etc - I had to get my old next door neighbour to get it off him for me. Twice, the fella actually looked through the window, smiled and then didn't answer the door. (Think I actually turned purple the second time and then proceeded to knock, erm, fairly vigorously to be fair). Whether he thought it was a sinister 'package' of some description and was merely being 'public spirited' I still don't know to this day but I just found the whole thing totally unbelievable. I was on the cusp of going in through his front window if it had continued but thankfully he was persuaded to hand it over, albeit by my old neighbour who advised that it would be for the best all round. Really speaking I should have reported him to the police for signing for then opening something which he knew wasn't addressed to him but was just relieved to get the record in the end. Name em, shame em then ... ... a dish best served cold they say don't they? Well, while I understand the analogy, not necessarily ... Once sufficient time had elapsed, a 'colleague' and I hatched and subsequently implemented a fiendish plan whereby a number of salad leaves were placed inside a shoe box to form a 'bed', upon which was laid a Richard III of significant proportions (I think there may even have been a hint of sliced egg / tomato garnish; if you're gonna do a job(bie) do it properly). Said box was then wrapped, addressed and hand delivered in the wee small hours. Tell you what, I'm all for tact and diplomacy a la Henry Kissinger but, in the final analysis, he'll think long and hard before he opens anyone elses kin parcel. Just another option for you to consider ...

		Ray Jay - Love Doll

Erm, you didn't fackin know it on the 2nd October but are on here now giving it billy big bollox 'warning' folk about "inflated" prices Tell you what: I'll find em, take a chance on em and pay good money - 70 quid as it happens. Next, I'll tell some clueless idiot about the record , be prepared to take a 30-40 quid loss in selling it to them then, and this is the best bit, get them to post snide comments based on their detailed knowledge of a. records they didn't know a week earlier; and b. the market rate for them Kin unbelievable! Sincere appologies to the original poster for hijacking your thread (and my obvious over-sensitivity). If you want it pal you can have it for 25 quid + postage (That's a £45 loss for me but worth every kin penny)

		United Sound Of Soul Update

Wherever it is it'll be quality While I've never been to this venue the feedback on the last one was fantastic so really looking forward to a trip down. Hopefully you 'll be able to stay put this time and ram the place every couple of months, as befits one of the very best nights around. Line-up for the next one looks great too; see you there! TnJ - who's driving? I don't mind, honest; my neck's still a bit stiff from last time and we may have to resort to the sunroof if it's yours x

		Tiaras

I went into a shop the other day and asked for a brown pair of Tricker's shoes. The gentleman behind the counter said he didn't have any for sale, although he did own a pair himself. In fact, it transpired that he has owned several black pairs previously and also has a brand new pair of brown ones in the bottom of his wardrobe but they're not currently for sale. Very kindly, he actually emailed his wife at one stage and she was good enough to scan them and forward the picture to me; they were really lovely and just what I am looking for. Unfortunately, however, he said they weren't for sale - how frustrating. He then provided me with a really informative potted history of this famous marque and we happily discussed the relative merits of leather vs man-made soles, breathability (naturally), heel wear and cobbling per se. Finally, after some 17 hours - by which time the shop had closed because dusk had enveloped it, although he was still remarkably encouraging and happy to give of his time and knowledge, which I fully appreciated - I left the shop. Sadly, I remained empty handed (apart from the lovely scan of the gentleman's [not for sale] shoes of course) but a whole lot better informed. Overall, am I glad I asked him? COME ON YOU TEASING BSTARDS, HAS ANY FOOKER GOT A COPY OF THE TIARAS FOR SALE?
