Yo chalky! hope your keep well matey? You may be right there re 10" but i thought there was some connection on the acetate re Ric Tic If no one has mentioned the super rare ESTER GRANT on WILSTONE then that must go into the top ten (surely £8,000+)?? Oh if only i kept my sex pistols 45 back in 1986 (sold it for £250 DOH!!)... though i still have a few thousand Northern 45's under the bed Greg

Most Expensive?
I remember Kenny telling me that Frank himself had offer $50,000 to buy the 45 (from Kenny). I think the offer was made at blackpool weekender. Rarest value on a 45???? how about adding the Little Ann (Sterlings old rose valentine c/up) ric tic acetate?...think it was ric-tic?? memory is a bit sketchy... Too much hanging around with Carl fortnum and the likes . Greg

People Fighting On The Soul Scene At Soul Night
Well i'm bored at work so i thought i'd add a few memories on this topic. I remember being in the ship pub in central London and had been on th sauce allday with an old girlfriend. She said shall we go to Taff's party in Hertfordshire? i said yeah why not. So we staggered off to the station and arrived for the last hour. Anyway i was in such a bad way i went outside and before i knew what was going there was a massive ruck! Don't know what started it but this was a proper toe to toe between about 10 lads. I sat on the wall with my beer and watched as one went down and one got up lol. The coppers came in a few cars and wagons and they got involved . Next thing i know a copper is asking me what im doing here? i said nothing just taking in the show. He decided i was no bother and slapped me on the shoulder saying go home son. The thing is i then lost my balance and fell off the wall and rolled down the grass verge about 20 yards. By the time i got up the hill everyone had stopped or been arrested. There was also a mad night at the 100club (small faces night) when there was two CS gas canisters let off in a ruck in the toilets...i remember Adey running after one of Canisters by the dance floor. At the Capitol Soul Club one night a certain London Soulie told the owner of the Dome that if he stopped him dancing again by the bar he would have him shot!! lol. The owner was not best pleased but decided to leave it when i told him who the soulie was and his family's background. The thing's some people do just to have a dance Greg

Hi all Must of missed this topic, but YES i have the bell sound acetate still..no its not for sale as i'm still collecting as per usual. Its slightly different to the vinyl release that Nick played at scenesville for many years. The Counts Acetate On Ebay
Was wondering if any of you have a view on the below acetate recently sold on ebay. In all the years i've been collecting i've never come across a shrine recording on a 10" acetate. I've seen many edgewood etc but never a 10" linked to Shrine and with the label being this bad i wonder. It went to a german collector i believe and if its the real deal then what a bargain at £700! The Counts - Peaches baby

Got to be Jon Anderson for sure, he has suppied most of the Big records to DJ's like Searling,Butch,Sam,Mick Smith (well one at least to mick lol). My next main man would be the one and only Mr A Croadsel. Think about all those unissued records going back to the 8ts through to the nineties and so on...the list is endless. All the scepter, shrine, wand, rca, carnival, big top etc etc. Thats not even talking about the unissed 100club singles and the super raritys like Big city playboy....tune!!! Soul Night Disgrace
Yeah, i remember we tried loads of things at the capitol...chicago hour, detroit hour, newies hour etc etc. We did the under £10/£15 hour if i remember correct..don't know who got that set but i bagged the detroit one :-) . Fortnum had the newies i think....good days/fun days. I think it would be a great idea to raise again at a venue but might only work in a small room. so promoters get rid of the rnb rooms. Remember one mans newie is another mans oldie oh no i forgot to mention the females...doh! greg

Soul Night Disgrace
Interesting stuff and i don't see that money calls the shots on a good unknown record. I remember in the early days of the Capitol we were playing lots of £10-£50 unknown records that are nowadays £100+. Alan, i and others had compiled boxes of records during our visits to the record bar at the 100club etc. Its just no one had the balls to play them and when we did people went for it. Yeah some didn't work but many did and later we just got back to rare stuff but always every dj through a few cheap things in. Maybe thats to do with doing regular sets and having the time to play them same records over and over again. I agree that boots should be for your feet only but these things happen and i could name nearly all the top dj's spinning the odd one over the years. But an hour of Boots is takin the p*ss. I mean theres only so much we can take at our age. Just my thoughts, now where did i put that emi disc of the temptones lol greg
