  10. Last time I was at Nott's Palais before they turned it intoa disco flashing floor light circus was 1983 - we put on an All Nighter, placewas buzzing and packed - just too many rules from the manager a short fat guyif I remember rightly - we could only start after 1.30 he ran the door and tooka % of the taking - still get people talking about it even now - I rememberlooking around outside the Palais and seeing people all the way down the streetto the car park around back - another box ticked in the must do - Soul life PSC Notts 1983.pdf
  11. Phil you were at the first night with Pete and the Darlington lot ?? running around like you did
  12. Peterborough Soul Club restarted All-nighters in 1982 andalthough over the following years the names of the clubs that ran all nightersthere changed i.e. Dedicated Soul Club, East of England Scooter Club &Dedicated Scooter Club - it was ran by the same bunch of guys. 1st Record played at 20.00 hrs was the Sherry's - Put your loving arms around me , justbefore the main doors were opened approx two min's there were no recordsplaying, then the guy on the inner doors between the hall and the entrance gavethe nod and that was the start. 1989 - Saw the last nighters, which shut at 07.00 in themorning - last record, Am on my way Dean Parrish. The sign attached is the original sign that was put over thedoor in the early 70t's - when the sign was removed there was another signunder it - THE BOX, which I believe it was called for a short time early 70t's. The sign was removed by the guys who removed the asbestosabout Feb 2009. Allnighters in the 80t's were run for 7 years; I was luckyenough to play the first record and played the last. Hope you enjoyed the memories I did. 15. I went to the Casino 1975 to when it closed - I did hear when Hey little way out girl was massive - someone jumped over the balcony. Looking back if you did jump off - that's a hell of a height, I guess hanging over the edge and letting go would be ok - depending on who's below. Am sure Russ or Brian Rae would know?? Next question - what balcony was higher Mr M's or the main hall - for me it was Mr M's ???? Thoughts on a post card to !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Later PSC The Fleet 1978 - 2010
  16. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Phil - Remember getting to the KGB - for a MOTOWN only night which seemed a good idea at the time - another problem we had no red bull - so decisded to buy a bottle of pro plus between 4 of us - after taking 12 tabs each we entered to see everyone off there necks no red bull any where - pro plus made us ill, theres only so many times you can hear This Old Heart of Mine before you go mad Ahhhhh - steep stairs going down - mirrors everywhere no where to sit and everyone looking at you - O yea and 5 - 13 year old kids who were off there necks and danced and chewed there balls off all night lucky sods - Love it later

James use to live at Abbotts Ripton just outside Huntingdon - he once left two cases of records at Huntingdon station they contacted him after about 5 weeks but no reply came back - both record box's / cases went down London - as excess needed to be paid, they were never picked up. I saw James come off a train with a hndfull of records - He had a British Demo Yellow London - Bill Blacks Combo - Little Queenie - I paid £3 for it - he still made £2 he was happy so was I - that was around 79. I aslo remember James getting through to the last 4 at the Wirrina dancing comp - yes they were taking the piss - but what the hell. - James looked like he was off his head - he never touched it - The sheep bit was his dad got busted rustling sheep - basically nicking them - I think thats where the sheep shagging bit comes from ??
