Visited Bob again today and he's doing so well that they've now moved him th Ward 4, which is a general ward and means he no longer has to be wired up to the national grid.
Or maybe they just moved him because my visits with other soulies had set back the other patients in the Coronary ward by months !
He now has to just rest for a week before they begin to check heart rates etc. when exercising on a treadmill and assuming that all goes well he will soon be allowed home.
Anyhow, Bob now has one of those TV/Internet/Phone Thingys with his own phone number so anyone who knows him well just PM or email me with your email address and I'll forward the contact number so that you can have a chat direct with him.
The revised address for cards is:
Bob Shaffer, Ward 4, Milton Keynes General Hospital, Standing Way, Eaglestone, Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, MK6 5LD
Hi All,
Visited Bob last night in MK General with Smoothy and Tony Warot and Bob's doing really well. We left him in really good spirits and I'm sure it's now just a matter of rest and recuperation before he's back to his old self.
However, it might be some time before the hospital recovers from our visit !
Thanks again for everyone's kind messages. Bob is now back in the Milton Keynes Hospital and the address for cards etc. is:
Coronary Care Ward, Milton Keynes General Hospital, Standing Way, Eaglestone, Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, MK6 5LD.
Or you can send cards to me and I will make sure he gets them:
Bob Shaffer, C/O Pete Burton, The Beeches, 16 Cowper Road, Bedford, MK40 2AU.
Hi,
Thanks for your message, we went over and visited Bob in Oxford tonight and he's doing really well. He had Angioplasty surgery soon after he was admitted because 2 of the arteries feeding his heart were blocked. But he's recovering really well, was really pleased with all the kind wishes that have been sent and looked better than I've seen him in ages.
He will probably be moved back to Milton Keynes Hospital tomorrow and I'll let you know his ward details for cards, etc. as soon as I have them.
Many thanks for caring.
Pete
Will do John, I went up to stay with Bob many times in Wales and remember some great nights at Bangor etc., one night in particular 4 years ago on my 45th birthday when we had a brilliant night at Bangor followed by all night and most of the next day partying back at Bob's place.
Memories eh !

Thanks to everybody, I'm planning to go over and try and see him tomorrow and I'll let him know you're all thinking of him.
Let's hope he's back at the decks doing what he loves soon.
Sorry to be the bringer of bad news but my best mate of 35 years and true soulie Bob Shaffer had a heart attack last night and was taken into Milton Keynes Hospital. Apparently, today he has been transferred by air ambulance to the Coronary Care Ward at John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.
Many on the scene know Bob who is originally from Cambridge, has lived in North Wales for 12 years but recently moved back south to work in Milton Keynes as a teacher of motor mechanics at the MK Tech.
The ward have said that flowers are not allowed but I'm sure Bob would appreciate cards.
Please join me in wishing Bob a quick recovery and hoping we see him back out on the scene soon.
Whoops..........wasn't intending to snipe or offend anyone as anyone who knows me will tell you. I was just a) surprised that I hadn't seen it on ebay because I'm a pretty avid ebay watcher and honestly giving an opinion on the value.
Still think it was only worth $800................but you can get silly money on ebay, which is exactly why I sell stuff on there.
That's probably why I never saw it...............if it was a buy-it-now item and sold quickly I would've missed it cos I only get to see things in the evenings.
Why offer it on soul-source for $1300 and then sell it as buy-it-now for $1200............are we supposed to pay a premium ?
I didn't even notice this on ebay.............where was it listed..............did anyone else notice it ?
I do a daily search for shrine records and this one didn't come up !
Craig Moerer has got the following for sale at $12.00
SUE KAREN
From Texas With Love
(country, vinyl LP)
Don't know if this track is on the album but why not email Craig and ask.
Pete
Goes for £50 + now, my mate sold one about a month ago for £60.
I remember Coalville had this on an Anniversary CD about 3 years ago.
Personally don't like it...............Country and Western IMHO.
At least you got a comment, I posted some up for sale yesterday and didn't get any comments.
Personally, I would have been over the moon if someone had pointed out that it was all overpriced crap..........do I sound bitter ?
All I'm saying Mark is, think yourself lucky !
