This really is the saddest news; it really is hard to believe! He was a real gentleman of the soul scene. His knowledge was outstanding and I can still remember those outstanding soul nights he put on at the Bear. Some of my earliest soul recollections were of Chris, he recommended no end of soulful 45's and filled our ears with wonderful soulful tunes that we may have never heard if it hadn't have been for Chris Savory. I'm really saddened at this great loss. He will be sadly missed!!!

These really are superb!!!

Great track listing, the quality was high back then, however it still is now if you're in the right places! There seems a lot more quality soul 45's about now than there was then, and that's got to be down to the internet.

I think they were done around 1993, the art work was done courtesy of Dave Rimmer, Jimmie & the Entertainers is next I think? The Hyperions was £70 off Tim Brown at the time, I can't believe what it goes for now, and there was a few about back then!!!

A few hundred I would imagine, I've not seen one for sale for years.
