when did you last hear a noise emminating from the prawn sandwich munching pseudo middle class dicks that now populate what used to be the palace of the kings of football, but... staying on topic... Cristiano Ronaldo could have won that dance comp. seen the 'tricks and flips' he can manage when in a penalty box!

just looked at the you-tube video and i have two questions 1) are gerry and sylvia anderson still alive and if so did i see that thong girl on Captain Scarlet School of Dance training video. 2) how much talc was used on the floor because as sure as fook that thong girl managed to avoid the 'suction' effect when doing those splits, and I know she was excited (if not a tad confused) ..... just asking!!

at the square peg in skeg we usually go on until 3:00 a.m. but...... if every one's knackered and departed by then we may (never have done yet) close a tad earlier so we can't really put exact time on but i think 2:30 a.m. / 3:00 a.m. can be described as late.
  8. and i applaud that but once again you seem to think that just because YOU think that then all others should think alike. a lot of people go to venues because they know what they are going to hear and are in their comfort zone. this is one kind of venue and paying public. in other kinds people don't know what they are going to hear and enjoy that.... another kind of venue. diversity, let each kind live on in their own ethos without trying to enforce ones' opinion on to the other! simple really, live and let live.... buggar, did i already say that?
  9. i don't know about you but for me it ain't a game of russian roulette..... a gamble, for me it's about entertaining the paying public and not me being a cleaver dick!.... guess that's just me then. you do what you have to do, play what you have to play, i have no problems with this, i embrace diversity but it seems as though you think ALL others should do as you do? who died and made you god?

nah... i think she was dancing to joe tex... SHOW ME!!!! .... just sleazing XX
  11. i invited a tumbleweed moment at kingsway hall last night spinning the trammps, hold back the night as a cleggy memory (far from the staple wheel/torch 100mph usual at the venue), expecting (but NOT hoping) the floor may empty.... it didn't.... go figure!

    you see, point proven.... entertaining!
  13. hi pete, good to meet you. i enjoyed last night very much, my particular 'bag' is mid-tempo from early 60s to y2k but.... how can one not enjoy a night full of people having such a great time. i get my 'fix' from other venues but still like to dip my toe into the world of kingsway hall occassionally, it's called diversity and some can do that, others can't... but as i say good to meet you and to see you got home safely. (if the 'galately breakfast don't knock you out nothin' will)
  14. then if you know what they play there and it's not to your liking don't go! quite simple really... and please don't be disrespectful to those who do go just because they are enjoying something you're not..... live and let live, not too difficult really is it.
  15. i play what i'm payed to play. if a promoter wants me to play stuff that don't get aired much then that's what he or she gets, if a promoter wants me to fill the floor that's what he or she gets. managed that at kingsway hall last night with a lettle deviation from the regular 100mph oldies sets they enjoy but it would have been disrespectful to the paying public for me to play my jean dushon just because i like it and it don't get much of an airing. but........ i'm certainly not criticising any other dee-jay for his or her policy, if we were all the same then the 'scene' would fly up it's own butt.
  16. not really, i'm paid not to empty the floor whether being adventurous or not!
  17. listened to last 2 hours on the way home from kingsway hall to skeg, the lad did well, very well, a million miles better than that marconi bloke (mr. tedium!!!!) ... just saying

that's why i feel they should not be banned!!! they should also NOT be taken as a guide to who is the 'best dancer' because we all dance how we feel, and that's good enough for us so who gives a shyte what others think but.......... it is pure entertainment, either admiring someones personal interpritation of the music or..... having a good bloody laugh!!!! lets face it, she was funny and it has given loads of people a good laugh (those who don't take it serious!).... just saying

    aren't we all?
  20. having said that pete, i had an 'almost tumble weed moment' with velvelettes - he's the one but i think that's because they paying punters hadn't much heard of it.
  21. i know what you're saying soulman but at kingsway hall if one doesn't deliver a footfall on the floor with 60s oldies one may be asked to leave the decks!!! ..... but, as long as one is aware of that before starting ones' set then it's fine. kingsway hall delivers what it says on the tin 100% oldies, and although my perfect night is full of soul from all decades, tempos and genre i do like dipping my toe in the time warp that is Kingsway Hall on occassions, i just can never find a pair of white socks when i need them .
  22. i'm on there tomorrow as well pete (again) so i'll leave my copy at home mate, make room in my box for the snake!!!
  23. thank you soulman, very much appreciated. played t.j. williams and the 'tumbleweeds' as i now call them at kingsway hall in forest town last night and the reaction was excellent.... and you'd have thought it wasn't 100 mph/torchy enough for those guys... yet more addition to my confusion!
