  1. And gone up £1650 since I bought it in 1975! Better return than anything in the city............ Ian D
  2. Apologies Ken, it's just that I have to use the independent links about a zillion times a day for numerous reasons - quality being the main one and ease of communicating to other places another one. Fact is that I've never managed to get my head around uploading to Refosoul and almost 100% of the files I receive are through independent links anyway. Anyway, Cunnie's just rectified it further in the thread so all OK now. Thanks Cunnie! Best, Ian D

Could be a good thread Steve, i.e. 'What Records Did John Anderson NOT Find Between 1970-1980'? The No.1 source for rare soul in the 70's for sure. Not just the Northern scene either. Virtually every serious collector of various Soul genres in the world has gone through John at one time or another, if you 'scuse the expression........... Oh, merry Xmas Steve. A real twat that I missed you guys yesterday @ The Hobgoblin - I had a radio show and a Mother-In-Law to deal with but catch yer soon no doubt..... Merry Xmas! Ian D

I think I found him through Blues & Soul originally when he was up in Scotland first time around - he used to run a box ad in the classifieds and was one of the only people dealing the bulk lots of U.S. imports back then. I presumed he started off as a soul fan who combined business with pleasure but I'm sure plenty of people on here know more about his origins, influences etc.......... Ian D
  5. Might do but debatable now I've listened to it again LOL! Pretty funny though and a GREAT plug plus I'll apologise on my bended knees to our favorite Los Angeles Soul Goddess......we're not worthy, we're not worthy etc, etc Actually, this sounds like fun. Ty Karim @ the 100 Club on 23rd December. Does it get any better? It must be Xmas or something................? Ian D
  6. LOL, that sounds like fun actually Ady. I also covered this subject on the radio show yesterday (about half way through via the link) just after I played "Lightin' Up"........... 2nd Hour The Lovelites - Get It Off My Conscience The Continental Four - What You Gave Up The Funk Brothers - Ain't No Mountain High Enough Inst (Alternative Take) Ty Karim - Lightin' Up The Fifth Dimension - What Does It Take Garland Green - Girl I Love You The Salsoul Orchestra feat Denise Montana - Merry Christmas All Felice Taylor - It May Be Winter Outside 7 Samurai - Marvin Sam Bostic - This Is For You Faze Action - Broad Souls The Neville Brothers - One More Day Dooley Silverspoon & Jeannie Burton - Am I Losing You https://www.sixmillionsteps.com/6MS-2008-12-21-Starpoint.mp3 I'll try and drag my bodyguard Mike Ritson down as well to keep an eye on Winston! Mmmmm. Let me get this straight Soulfulmouse, are you saying that John put you in a hotel and then subjected you to sexually depraved visual images and then relieved you of your money whilst you were at an impressionable age................? And then gave you a free pack of cards LOL? That's just bloody typical of these Scottish media types.......! Just added to the ever-expanding dossier we have on this Mr Anderson........... Ian D

Right! That's three of us so far. I suggest we all get a proper psychological evaluation done and get the "Post Traumatic Soul Bowl Syndrome" established as a bona-fide symptom of the long-term physiological damage of trying to get through to Soul Bowl under extremely difficult circumstances...... Tell John to get his cheque book out Stevie G...........! Ian D

Brilliant Dave. Now we can launch a class action LOL.......... I don't like the sound of the circular saw bit though. Come to think of it, I also wrecked one car engine and totalled another completely on the way back from bloody Norfolk. He owes me millions............. Ian D
  11. Whew. Just found in the vaults. A WONDERFUL unreleased Tom Moulton mix of the People's Choice' "Lost & Found" (originally U.S. Phillips 40615). Pure Northern brilliance IMO - just listen to the production on this - love the great drum work, the harmonies and Frankie Brunson's vocals as well! Top friggin' sound. Anyone who loves early Philly pounders should dig this.......... People's Choice "Lost And Found" - Unreleased Tom Moulton Mix https://www.zshare.net/audio/5310990649e9318e/ Have permission to post. Merry Xmas to everyone from Reid Whitelaw (co-incidentaly co-writer on Magic Night's "If You And I Had Never Met" and the Moment of Truth releases), myself and Philly Groove Records! Have a stonkin' holiday! Ian D
  12. Found on a truly terrible Salsoul Christmas Jollies album a few years back but a nice seasonal mid-tempo tune nonetheless. Has a sort of "Hold Back The Night" early Philly feel to it plus Vince Montana's daughter on vocals..... ...anyway it's Christmassy.... The Salsoul Orchestra feat Denise Montana "Merry Christmas All" https://www.zshare.net/audio/53059995225fcde9/ Have permission to post Mods. Happy Xmas! Ian D

Absolutely. The 8.30am Thursday (or was it Friday) call was very stressfull. Especially if I was on the road and had to use a telephone box. This just brought back memories of freezing my balls off somewhere in a phone box, constantly being harrassed by other people wanting to use the phone box whilst getting a constant engaged signal......... Does John understand the sheer psychological trauma he put people through I wonder? I'm still suffering the nightmares some 35 years later. I think it's called "Post Trumatic Soul Bowl Syndrome" or something innit? Anyway I'm suing the tight Scottish git for not installing several lines! Ian D

LOL, trust you to choose my favourite vocalist. It works the other way too:- Receptionist - Hey boss I've got that Paul Anka on the phone. Studio Manager - What of it? Receptionist - He is running late. Are we OK to hold the session for him? Studio Manager - Tell him not to bother. Receptionist - Eh? Studio Manager - Todays the day musicians will shine. 40 years later someone bumps into a Mediasound acetate that has the instrumental version of " Can't Help Loving You"................ Ian D

  20. LOL, yep, gravity can be a bitch even if you're a Los Angeles Soul Goddess....... Ian D
  21. Yep, I specialised in using the "is your left boob hoisted unnaturally high my dear" line with some success it has to be said....... Ian D
  22. Yep, best one I've ever heard for pure soul content! Ian D
  23. Yer welcome Marcus! Has been booming out of the speakers @ Dewhirst Towers this week.......... Ian D
  24. It was a valid question Malc. We know she's a Los Angeles Soul Goddess with at least one well-rounded and extremely highly-hitched left boob which she very skilfully framed with arrangement of her left arm and hand. I just felt sorry for the other one.............. Ian D
