Todays Extremely Underplayed Cheapie
LOL Ian! As a collector of 50s/60s chart hits, it's a must-have for me! But I do like Eden Kane, especially this one (both sides), even though he was Peter Sarstedt's bruv!!

Todays Extremely Underplayed Cheapie
Guess it goes to show that even B-sides of chart hits have their day somewhere. Like these: GLORIA GAYNOR: We Just Can't Make It (B-side of Never Can Say Goodbye) BRENTON WOOD: I Think You've Got Your Fools Mixed Up (B-side of Gimme Little Sign) EDEN KANE: A New Kind Of Lovin' (B-side of Forget Me Not, later covered by Patrice Rushen ) Are there more?

Good Grief
I bought mine at a boot sale for £1 in 1990. This copy is now in the hands of Dawn Brown (Nick Browns' wife), as the result of a trade for The Arcades on Triad a couple of years later!! Still, I'm pleased it went to a couple of very good friends!!

Bootlegs of "All Of A Sudden" are on thinner vinyl and, apparently, all are pressed off-centre.

OK George - accepted, and appreciated........... :good:

A Few Bits For Sale
"DON'T BITE THE HAND THAT FEEDS YOU........." This is the same Agent Double R-Soul, the same patronising wee shite who keeps slagging off the British lifestyle and claims to have a bigger collection than Tim Brown. The same guy who made himself a pain in the ass with his arrogant drivel against the UK Soul Scene. Now where did I put that article explaining that the Soul Scene originated in Australia and is patented by a certain George Coumbis?

Old Records
Hi Angie, If you want, send me a PM and let me know what you've got. As a collector of most other things since 1975, I'd be happy to value them just as a bit of help. Alternatively, a good move would be to invest in the Record Collector "Rare Record Price Guide", to see what your records are worth. There is also a section which explains how to grade you records. After that, you may want to auction/sell them on Ebay, either individually or as a job lot. One bit of advice - if something is valued at abour £5, you probably won't get that much, so probably best to start bidding on individual items at £1 - £2 each, at your own discretion. Await to hear from you, perhaps? Gene

Janice Christian & Lots More 60/70s
No. I've had two copies of Dust My Broom on the orange Tangerine label, and they've both been spotless. Should really have sent it back and complained that it didn't have a paint splodge! Not even seen a spoldged copy of The Vala-Quons. Perhaps the splodge was the label owner's autograph? (ooops, did I say that????)

Jamaican Northern See What You Think
No, it wouldn't be "I Need Your Love" Pete - that came out here on Blue Beat in '63. Worth mentioning that "Need Your Love" is actually not a bad calypso/soul cut in itself. Wonder what the correct title is for this mysterious Lloyd Robinson white label? Had a snippet of it on a sales tape from Johnny Fingers a few years ago, and it's either late 60s, or even crossover to the early 70s. Any clues? Wonder if it is actually Lloyd Robinson, give that the credits were probably handwritten? BTW Pete - another mid-tempo JA track comes to mind - "Land of Imagination" by Prince Buster on Blue Beat (the B-side of "The Appeal"). Have you heard it? Gene

Jamaican Northern See What You Think
There's another JA white label mid-tempo 45 doing the rounds - "I Love You" by Lloyd Robinson. Also, is anyone aware of the Warren Schatz original of "Soon Everything Is Gonna Be Alright" (covered by Third Time Around)? A JM list from 1985 claims Schatz's version was only ever issued in Jamaica, on the Wild Flower label. Is that right? Gene

Jamaican Northern See What You Think
"The Hurting Is Over" - Arthur Willis & his Soulful Dynamics (Mars La Tour) Probably only two known copies - in the hands of Butch and Andy Rix.
