  1. One of the biggest floor fillers and can still be picked up for a fiver. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=34WLRnyMLiw
  2. "So is the same gonna happen to 'As if there were no tomorrow'? C'mon, you know it's terrible tune that should only be played when all the soul records have been smashed to pieces and buried deep in an oceanic trench" LOL!! Took the bait and landed!!
  3. I didn't say it didnt, I was merely comparing it to the out and out Northern Soul tracks such as the 'Frankie Beverleys and Eddie Parker' style records, saying that it wasn't in that style of music. I 100% agree what you are saying and know this too as I have loved the music for over 40 years, and visited some of the best club going in that time, including the Torch, VaVas, Samantha's, Casino and the place that I think Velvet Hammer was first played Blackpool Mecca. Someone will correct me if I am wrong there. Tunes like this HAVE as you say helped make the scene what it is today, and who knows what the future of the scene is, not you or I or anyone for that matter, it will happen as it happens and we'll have to wait and see,
  4. So is the same gonna happen to 'As if there were no tomorrow'? C'mon, you know you all love it Just wondered if it's going to go as big as 'when we get there'? Who knows? Not I.
  5. Yeah £122, not as much as i got for my black US issue a few months back at £132. I would have thought more to be honest but hey? someone got a bargain, or did they??
  6. I do agree with that in some cases, but in my case, my wife was playing on her lappy while I was on my PC, I heard it and recognised that I knew the track from years ago and asked her what it was, she said it's a video that my sister-in-law had put on her facebook page. I asked on facebook if anyone know the track and got the answer. So was nothing to do with seeing a video with it on, in my case if I'd have heard it out, I would have recocnised it and asked what it was too. Love the track and look forward to playing it. BUT can I add that I don't think it is a true representation of Northern Soul either, I would actually place it in the 'Disco' genre more than Northern Soul, along with the Brainstorms and Skip Mahoneys of this world, but then again, I love the disco stuff too.
  7. Yeah was watching that one, and the one before it went for £130 too.
  8. I have to admit in all honesty, that I had completely forgotten about the track since I first heard it some 30 years ago I think. I heard it for the first time recently on the video that I posted and to actually ask what it was. Instant love it was an had to have a copy. I finally managed to get it after being tipped off about an album by Andre Williams that included the track and bought one of those. Love albums anyway so not too bothered if it's not a 7.
  9. One of the ones in question has now gone so can't link it. But the reason I brought up the subject was that someone on facebook said that they had just bought a mint copy off eBay for £45, so I looked on eBay, and lo and behold, there was another Mint copy for sale for £45, which riased my suspicions. If it's not a boot all I can think then is that the seller has come across a few mint copies.
  10. You are still insured up to £20 even with normal post in the UK, not sure about other countries. You need to ask him or find out through a web search what insurance cover normal post includes from his country. I know the UK bit is true as one of the counter staff asked me what was in a parcel that I was sending and what it was worth when I asked for recorded delivery. I told har about £18 and she said "you know normal pst covers you for £20?". I still sent it recorded as that is what the buyer had paid for, but worth finding out in your case.
  11. Also got this for £9, simply because it looks different. Major Lance - The Monkey Time - Canadian 'Epic' demo with Radio Station stickers.
  12. Just got this through from Belgium. Paid £11.50, well worth it and well chuffed with the condition too, sleeve a little faded, but vinyl Excellent+ Exciters - Chitlins & Caviar Album
  13. I think the only time I would buy a copy of a record that I knew was beyond repair would be to frame it and hang it on a wall. I did this once with an original 7" acetate copy of 'Jocelyn Brown - Somebody elses guy', Does look good though.
  14. There seems to be a suddeen flurry of pink label 'Soozi ' copies of velvet hammer - Happy, coming up for sale since it was used in the viral video with the girl dancing to the new 'Pharrell Williams track and then the Velvet hammer track of the same name. Are these legit? Also the copies that are surfacing are in mint condition? seems a bit sus to me! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dZLLPaX4SS4&feature=share
  15. Out of curiosity what does the US demo go for now? £40-£50 Serious??? I sold a normal USA release for over £130 a couple of months ago
  16. How much did you pay for it 12 years ago?
  17. Heard worse played out. Bet it still fetches good money though, 3 bids, £51 already with nearly 9 days to go.
  18. Think I'll go for a £200 mark?? But could go silly cos I sold a Black US copy a few months ago for £135, so in context I would say the UK original demo would be worth quite a bit more.
  19. Wonder if anyone has any estimates on what what this will finish up at? Paul Anka-When we get there - UK RCA Victor Blue/Green Demo. Out of my price range no doubt https://www.ebay.com/itm/321271379783?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
