Sad news Reg King lead singer of 60's mod group The Action has sadly passed away aged 65.

R.I.P Reggie. :(

Sad news indeed Ian, I had the privilege of seeing The Action around 1968 up here and just recently got a hold of the bands reunion gig at the 100 Club, where I thought he was struggling with the vocals and that was 10 years ago, very sad, top mod band they were

I thought similar from Rob Bailey this morning.

Then received the message below from Carl Stopforth from the FB group The Action 'Kings of Kentish Town'

The reason why this group exists? The Action weren't just good, they where very good! Lets reflect on the music they made and the wonderful voice of Reg King, one of the many reasons why The Action still mean so much to so many people. R.I.P Reg King!

Thought it may be absolutely gutted they meant a lot to me.

Really sad news, was only listening to them last week.

Superb vocalist and their covers of soul tracks were sublime. :(

yeah - it seems to be true, I can't believe it - I have been a fan since I was 14 - he was the best blue eyed mod !

Gutted !

He really did have the best white voice in this country in the 60s - he was so unlucky not to have found real fame !

Sad news indeed....

One of the 1st 60s bands for me in my youth.....

Sort of brings it home to me again, how little time we really have here to have a bit of fun.
