Big thankyou to all who came to Motown and Philly Sunday yesterday at Soho social Barnsley. Another fabulous afternoon, great atmosphere with our regulars and a few new faces. Thanks to My Guest Dj Martin Wright all way from Bonny Scotland and Baggie who popped over from Bradford with a box a great mix of tunes.

The soul scene is amazing and gives us so much joy . We feel ,see and share the passion you bring when we put on our events . We would like with your help to be able to dedicate a couple of events each year that can be used by us all to give something back to society and hopefully make someone's struggle a little easier. That is why we are putting these on to give hope share the love and also to be able to keep one of the best dancefloors in the south west alive with Soul Music..  
 
This event is to  be held at Cinderford Miners Hall , Wesley Road , Cinderford , GL14 2JN which has one of the very best dance floors in the South West.
The awsome Soul Mafia on Wax RCF sound system.
Reasonable  Bar , Plenty of parking at the rear of the club.
The Proceeds of this  event will go to various  charities.
There will also be a raffle with prizes.
We are hoping with the support of all you beautiful people out there that we are going to raise a nice bit of cash as we go along for these and other charities . We cant do this without you...

The Ashton Ukrainian club has gone from strength to strength following the re-launch in 2021 and a move to Saturday night. For 2025 we're looking once again to continue delivery quality rare and underplayed soul from the residents and ever growing list of outstanding guests.
Speaking of ‘Rare & Underplayed Soul’ we use that phrase to capture what Ashton tries to deliver musically, which is worth expanding upon.
Mainly it's an attempt to move away from the standard music policy strap lines we’re all so used to seeing like; Northern, 60s & 70s, Crossover, Modern, across the board etc. etc. whilst genuinely trying to capture an ethos. The words ‘rare’ and ‘underplayed’ are intended to apply both in their own right and together, it certainly isn't supposed to be limited rare records that are also underplayed……we should have added quality in there too LOL.
In a nutshell you will hear all three combinations of the phrase on any given night at the Ukrainian Club; ‘Rare’ (but not for rarities sake) ‘Underplayed’ (but not because they’re not good enough) and of course ‘Rare & Underplayed’ but, all with one eye on the dancefloor.
We don’t have a music ‘policy’, all our residents & guests are free to express themselves as they wish, which we believe adds to the magic. So simply expect a great night of quality soul music if you ever get the chance to join us at our friendly little club.

If you are staying and walking to the venue head into the market place and walk towards Boots ,which is at the far end towards John Adams Way, just past is a Tudor fronted building with a passageway one side and a narrow road along the other, walk down either of these and you should finish up in a small square with a row of houses at the bottom, the venue is down a small road to the right of the last house.
If you're travelling from Lincoln/Grantham/Spalding direction follow the signs for Skegness but stay in the left hand lane on the dual carriageway and as soon as you cross the bridge and the road bends round to the left take the first exit, Sibsey Lane, there will be a sign up, and follow that road adjacent to the dual carriageway until it opens into a square, don't go back onto the dual carriageway, then a small road leads to the venue on the right, again there will be a sign.There is a car park but if it's full just park in Boots car park next door as long as you don't leave your vehicle there overnight.
If you're travelling from Spilsby/Skegness direction follow the signs for the station but stay in the right hand lane and go around the big roundabout and come back on yourself then follow the above directions.

Junction 2 Soul Club returns for it's monthly night of great Soul Music.
This month is our annual charity event, this year it's in aid of The Stroke Association.
Everyone works for free on this night and every penny goes to the charity. There will be a charity raffle and any donations will be gratefully received
DJs Warren Stuart & Little Anthony will be playing the best Soul, Tamla Motown, Northern Soul, Disco Classics & Old Skool Reggae all on vinyl with their Soul & Motown Roadshow.

The night will be full of memories with all the Motown/Philly/Northern soul played by Tommy.
