This month is the big one,for myself,as i am celebrating my birthday, on the 3rd friday of the month,not on the 13th . as thats the day i was born. Just bring yourseves & nothing else. The night will kick off at 6ok till around midnight..It will be across the board policy 70% Northern,with the rest from the 60s -70s & just beyond the 80s.The DJs on the night, will be Martin Simpson, Nigel Clarke,Steve fudge,Gary Wilton, and the birthday man Dave Green...6 HOURS.of top british & U.S.A. Soul Sounds all played on 100% Vinyl. Talc friendly,but not Johnsons . LEEDS SOULFUL SHACK
Cross Gates Recreational Club is a very active club in North East Leeds. The management take a great pride in presenting the venue the very best they can. The function room is upstairs and there is a lift for easy access. Toilets are on the same floor as the event. Friendly staff and working man club priced drinks.
Going back to our roots, the night is about the great times of our youth. Motown classics and sounds from the youth club days like Band of Gold by Freda Payne played from the original vinyl records. There might be smattering of popular, modern and R&B.

As some of you may know, Soul Brew DJ Marc Silverside has recently had an op & treatment for thyroid cancer, so for now he needs to cut back on the DJing. In order to keep the Harold soul nights going, from now on Steve Crawshaw (Selby Trades) will be taking over the soul nights there - along with a fresh new line up of DJs - to spin the vinyl for us.
Hats off & well done to Marc for keeping that big smile on his face throughout such a tough time, but its feet up time now - we'll have him back on the Harold decks in no time!



The Harold's got it all - a warm welcome & fab, friendly atmosphere; great sound system with request-friendly DJs - if they've got it with them, they'll play it for you!  There's a top-notch dance floor with absolutely no need at all for talc; bar prices at WMC rates; large car park & good transport links. It's situated on the main road, with easy access from Chain Bar Roundabout, regular busses from Bradford, Brighouse, Leeds & Huddersfield & it's also close to Low Moor train station. There's even a nice hotel (The Guide Post) less than 10 mins walk away for those who fancy making a weekend of it!                                                                                                                    
We tend to limit numbers to 120 max in order to make sure everyone has a seat & also a space on a not-too-crowded dance floor, so please be early to avoid disappointment.
