This is our first of four events in 2025. 
We have had many guest DJ's baring their soul's for us over the last 7 years and this year is no exception. The guests have always been an eclectic mix of local collectors, top DJ's and new faces, maybe not to the soul scene but to Ashby Connoisseur's Soul Club. This month is no exception, we welcome back top DJ's Mick H and Ian Evans and joining him for his first set at Ashby Connoisseurs' Soul Club another excellent and well travelled DJ Taz Robathan.

The venue is spacious, has an area for dancers although a small space, plenty of seating and it's own well stocked bar. Instead of the normal buffet, the landlord will put on an outdoor BBQ and dependant on the weather we could move the whole event into the covered outdoor space to the rear of the Queens Head. Watch this space. 
If you have attended previous events you will know what to expect and how seriously good the music and atmosphere are. If you missed them for some reason or are a new member, you should try and make one of the events this year, they are a must for all lovers of soul music. 
Those who attend regularly know the variety and quality of music played. Each event we try to select DJ's with diverse musical tastes and this month is no different.
All attending can expect a friendly atmosphere, excellent music in a classy environment at 'Ashby Connoisseurs Soul Club'. Excellent bar and wonderful music to see us through the afternoon. Food in the form of a free buffet, will be provided on the day by the Landlord. What more can you want from a Sunday afternoon? Record dealers are always welcome.
If you need assistance in finding a local hotel, look no further than the Queens Hotel. Speak to the manager to book and let them know you are attending the event and they will apply a concessionary rate. This is a very social Sunday afternoon in a lovely cafe bar with music throughout the venue and incorporating a back room with a full sound system and a small dance area.
Note this is all about the music - not the format. The music format is digital and will vary from the well known classics to underplayed gems - we have six hours to go at! We will play requests if we have them and the regulars often hand in a list on their arrival . Yes it's very informal and everyone seems to know each other in no time at all.
