Northern Soul Spectacular - Todmorden

The Golden Lion sits on the junction of the A6003 Rochdale Road and A646 Burnley/Halifax Road, Todmorden. The town bridges the Lancs/Yorks border hence the postcode being OL. Todmorden js within easy reach of major cities, Manchester and Leeds as well as Rochdale, Littleborough, Bury, Burnley, Halifax, Brighouse and  Bradford.

The train station is 5 mins walk from the venue and bus station similar. Nearest free parking is at Morrison's just a short walk too.

Anyone contemplating an overnight stay...not too many facilities available, best bets being The Queens which is adjacent to the the train station and the White Lion Hotel, in Hebden Bridge about 4 miles away ( check out their websites for room availability. )

The nearest Travelodge and Premier Inn facilities are located in Burnley, about 8  miles away, which is roughly 20 minutes by car or taxi.

The Golden Lion serves food, having a Thai kitchen on it's premises. There are also several good eateries besides, serving a varied range of food.

A few tunes from me..

Well known throughout Lancs and Yorks and an integral figure within the scene for a good many years now, BILL MURRAY , or as Ginger refers to him " Boogaloo Billy ". Great knowledge as well, djs fairly frequently, and certainly has discerning taste where the music is concerned. Bill will be banging out the tuneage, downstairs where, it's FREE....ALL DAY!😉👍🎵💃🕺🎶⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Yes you can. Tickets are for upstairs only, we'll have wrist bands on the day fot that purpose too.😉👍 the limit is set at 100 anyway.

Downstairs is free all day.

Rob has Tim bought new slippers for the occasion.😄

Tim gave me a tour once of every Todmorden venue/pub that had hosted a northern soul night over the last 50years. Do you know if The Golden Lion has been used before or is it a new one.

Bob, if it had been i guess he may have mentioned. Had to laugh....when these folk first moved in, they decided to paint the pub yellow...unfortunately they didn't consult the council...they had to paint it white again!🤣🤣🤣 are you sure he bought some slippers?, he's dosn't like buying anything...if he can help!🤣🤣

I was thinking it's so local to Tim that he could just pop along and do his spot in his slippers.

Here's a couple of selections from our Agent at Anglo American, TOM DACEY. Tom certainly knows a thing or two and has the instincts of a bloodhound to spot or track down a tune, forgotten, underplayed or even underrated and can mix a set up pretty accurately as testified by numerous appearances at venues in Lancs and further afield as well. Looking forward immensely to his sets this weekend...which is fast approaching!
