About The Event

 ***Please Note: The music policy for this event is 70s/Crossover with a dab of midtempo 60s soul - We do not play traditional Northern Soul Oldies***

"Dab of Soul by the Seaside"

                      November 14th-16th 2025
 

We are delighted to announce that as from Wednesday 11th June we will be accepting bookings for "Dab of Soul by the seaside 2025".

 

The event will again be held at The Seafront Hotel (Formerly the County Hotel)  situated on the promonade in beautiful Llandudno, North Wales. Main room DJs confirmed for the event are Matt Fox, Joao Tenreiro, Steve Plumb and Arthur Fenn. 

 

The costs for the weekend are as follows:

 

Single room: £50.00 per person per night (£100.00 for the weekend)
 

Double/Twin room: £50.00 per person per night (£200.00 for the weekend)
 

Weekend Pass: £40.00 per person
 

Total: £140.00 per person for the whole weekend

 

All room costs include breakfast.

 

The event will run from 1.00pm on Friday 14th November until 5.00pm on the Sunday (16th) afternoon. The music will run until 2.30am on the Friday and Saturday night.

 

Considering the success of our previous events we expect demand to be very high and therefore in order to give everyone a fair chance there are a very specific set of instructions that must be followed in order to book for this event.

 

 

  • Booking opens for hotel with weekend passes at 6.00pm on Wednesday 11th June.

  • Simply send an email to chris.soul@btinternet.com stating the following:

    • What type of room (Single, Double, Twin) and how many weekend passes you would like.

    • Name of all people attending.

    • How many nights you are booking for (Extra nights can be booked now) 

    • How you would like to pay - Bank transfer or cheque. 

    • If you have special room requirements because of medical needs.

  • You will receive an email back confirming your booking with a total cost.

  • In the event that your desired accommodation is not available you will also receive email notification.

  • Any emails received before 6.00pm will not be included

  • If You have not received a reply by 20.00 please message Chris on 07974 722667 

  • Payment this year will be by Bank Transfer/ Cheque only. The account details are: Name; C.Anderton, Sort Code: 20-26-22. Account Number: 53892204.

  • If you choose to pay by cheque all payments must be received by Saturday 21st June unless otherwise arranged.

  • Please send all cheques made payable to C.Anderton to 11 White Iris Place, Stapeley, Nantwich, Cheshire,CW5 7TB

  • There is no option to pay by PayPal this year. 

  • Booking will be done on a strictly first come first served basis. All booking emails will be answered in order.

  • Once the hotel has sold out notification will be posted in the Dab of Soul facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/175475195837958/

  • Weekend only passes priced at £40.00 will be on sale once the hotel is sold out. 

  • You can stay at the hotel on the Thursday or Sunday night for the same reduced rate. Please include this in your booking email and reflect the extra nights in your payment

  • If you make a booking and are then unable to attend the event you are responsible for selling your own booking although we would help by advertising it on the FaceBook page etc. No refunds will be given.

  • There are no "One night" passes available.

  • Daytime "Collectors spots" will be confirmed nearer to the event.

  • The hotel are planning a major redecorating programme during 2025. We cannot guarantee that all rooms will be finished by the time of the event but the hotel manager is hopeful that a large amount of rooms will have had work completed by this time.

  • The repairs to the heating system have been authorised and work is due to start in the very near future.

  • The exterior of the hotel has already been painted.

Just checked out the reviews on this hotel on trip advisor and it ain't good hope it improves before the weekender please have a look

Hi Stephen,

The hotel changed hands at the beginning of the year and is now called "The Seafront Hotel"

The hotel is currently undergoing an extensive refurbishment with many rooms completely redecorated and having new furniture. I will know the exact details when I visit in the next few weeks.

"Dab of Soul by the Seaside" Weekender Update 2025

Thank you for agreeing to join us at our tenth "Dab of Soul by the Seaside" weekender in the wonderful seaside town of Llandudno. I must admit when we launched our first event in 2014 at the Regency Royal Hotel we never thought we would make ten years!

Please take time to read this email which will give you plenty of detail on how the weekender will work. Of course if you still have questions....Just ask!

*** Please Note: Only alcohol purchased at the bar can be consumed in the public areas.. Anyone found bringing their own alcohol in will be asked to leave the event. No exceptions. Please don't put us in this position!***

Checking In and Hotel

The hotel has been rebranded as the "Seafront Hotel" and the postcode is LL30 1BD.

You can check into your room any time from 15.00 on Friday 14th November.

We understand that people travelling long distances may arrive earlier so if you do arrive early and your room is not ready you may leave your luggage in reception.

As per normal hotel procedure the hotel will swipe a credit card as security.

You will be issued with your room key and wristband by the hotel reception staff.

If you have booked Weekend passes only please come into the hotel and collect your wristband from the reception.

Checking out time is 11.00 on Sunday 16th November.

For people who have booked extra nights, the check in/out times remain the same.

If you have any issues at all with the hotel please notify reception and they will sort it out for you. Please do not put up with an issue you are not happy with....There are spare rooms you can me moved to. It's no good complaining after the event! If you prefer please speak so Chris or Dave. David and his team are very focussed on the customer and they are extremely approachable and happy to help.

The hotel has undergone some renovations but at the moment there is no new furniture, this may or may not arrive before our event. We have agreed with the hotel we will use the best rooms available for the weekender but as I said previously let the hotel know if anything isn't up to your expectations.

The heating issues from last year have been mended in 95% of the hotel. We will not be using any rooms in the remaining 5%!

Housekeeping will not make daily visits but if you need need housekeeping please inform reception who will arrange that for you.

The quality of the Wi-Fi has also been improved.

We still have a handful of twin and single rooms available in the hotel.

Music

Music will run during the following times:

Friday 13.00 until 19.00 Bar area

Friday 20.00 until 2.30 Ballroom

Saturday 12.00 until 19.00 Bar area

Saturday 20.00 until 2.30 Ballroom

Sunday 11.00 until 17.00 Ballroom

This year we are continuing with the sweet/deep soul room in the evening. This is a chill-out room where we will be playing only very slow records!

We will be holding all daytime and sweet soul sessions in the pub that is adjoined to the hotel.

Please see separate DJ line-up schedule for details of DJ times.

Collectors spots are very in-demand. If we went on until Tuesday we would still not manage to fit everyone in. Apologies if you are not selected this year. Priority goes to people who support the radio show and previous weekenders and who did not get a spot last year or the year before.

Food and Drink

Breakfast will be served in the dining room from 8.30 until 11.00am on Saturday and Sunday.

Bar meals will be available every day from 5.00 until 9.00pm. Bar meals may be served in the bar or in the restaurant. Pizzas are available at any time.

There are several bars around the hotel including one in the ballroom used for the evening event.

Only food and drink purchased from the hotel may be consumed in the venue.

Anyone found bringing their own drink into the bar will be asked to leave the event, no exceptions.

The main room bar will close at 2.00am each night.

Parking

Currently car parking will be on the street at the front of the hotel. There is a plan to make this area chargable at some point. We will notify you if this happens before the weekender...but it's unlikely! DJ Times - TBA

Miscellaneous

Should you wish to stay an extra night (Thursday or Sunday) we have negotiated a special deal with the hotel whereby you can stay for our special weekender rate of £50.00 per person. To book this contact the Dave on dal07@btinternet.com

Record dealers are welcome but space is limited. This year we will hold record sales in the pub area.

Please note there is a strict “NO TALC” policy on the ballroom dance floor. Please respect this rule throughout the weekend.

If there are any issues with the hotel room or facilities during the weekend please speak to the hotel reception. Obviously We are happy to help wherever possible.

The hotel is for weekender guests only, please do not invite anybody else into the hotel over the weekend.

Please wear your wristband at all times. Anyone not wearing a wristband will be challenged.

We will be running a raffle and an auction over the weekend with all proceeds going to The Christie Charity If you would like to donate a prize, no matter how small (or large!) please bring it with you.
