July 17, 200915 yr At school I was taught by a bloke who consistently claimed he marked our homework by throwing the essays down his staircase at home. Whichever step the paper landed on corresponded to a grade. I suspect some ebay sellers have followed his patented approach when grading their 45s.

Whichever step the paper landed on corresponded to a grade. I suspect some ebay sellers have followed his patented approach when grading their 45s. ahh, i'm also not a fan of the popular "never use anything below VG+ no matter what" method. It's got to the point where I even have to ask for a detailed audio description on 45s graded Excellent now, ridiculous. Wishful thinking seems to have replaced critical assessment with a lot of sellers.
July 18, 200915 yr https://www.eskimo.com/~bpentium/beatles/grading.html that website is misleading because the whole point of goldmine grading is that there's no "EX" yet they call it goldmine grading and then they add an "EX". They do say that goldmine doesn't have an "EX" but it's totally misleading to say that it's goldmine and have an EX, when I see a seller describe a record as VG++ and then say it's goldmine, it should be almost mint. I even see some sellers on ebay say VG++ to M- and then in some of their other listings say "EX", what's up with that???
