But l don't think it made that much of an impression and some records of that same time were bigger.....Such as

1) I Walked Away-Bobby Paris

2)When We Get There-Paul Anka

3)That's Not Love-Holly St.James

...........................................Or do l remember it like that 'cos l had shedfuls of back-street blueys??? What is your perpective on this??

christ this takes me back love it

first i remember about it was the bootleg under the suedonym of eddie foster on in records, its relevance as a true rareity would, at the time, be lost on 99% of punters who would only be interested in dancing. i dont think the masses cottoned on to the idea of serious collecting until the 80's and the advent of record fairs, car boots etc and the reality that a lot of stuff was waiting to be cherry picked from jm and soulbowl, let alone going to the states. "do i love you"then, was purely a "northern" record like any other and the reference to motown didnt connect immediatly. its value in historical terms would only be confirmed when inquisitive minds discovered it was a missing artifact from the motown catalogue, hence the intrigue surrounding frank wilson, who he was in the scope of the motown machine and why this record has posed so many differnt questions over the years and will continue to do so.

It's the rarity value that hypes the record, abeit a great one too.

the first recolection I have:- 1967 the Tabernacle club in Stockport , top Motown sound in there was " whole lotta shakin in my heart" miracles ,produced by Frank Wilson ! the D.J. told me to look out for a single by Frank Wilson issued from the "West coast- side of Motown Records", he said this tip came from Rodger St Pieaire (Where is spell-check when u need it) Who founded the "Tamla Motown Appreciation Society" , It was known of a couple of years after its issue , but not seen till many years Latter ! P.s A couple of years back , was In The Greatstone Club (accross the road from Old Traffords Ground) When a good friend walked over to me & placed an original Copy in my Hand ! It was obvious it was a an original ? Looking around I spotted Kenny Burrel ???Sorrted .
