so I got a 45 in the mail today which has been cracked in a way I've not seen before. It is cracked at the inside of the runout groove around about a quarter of the edge of the label. Looks like the doing of a brutal pressure stress from somewhere. It is still playable as the crack doesn't affect any of the playing surface but it does have a pretty epic gently rolling pressure warp, looks like the stylus is riding a wave when it plays. annoying, I've emailed the label to get a replacement copy, but haven't heard back yet. Anyone else encountered a pressure crack such as this before?

Yep,

I found a copy of Jimmy Helms on Symbol last year that was cracked about 75% of the way round the run out groove. Almost like it dinked! Crack followed the rim of the label exactly. Weird eh?

Dave
