Hi All

Picked up a copy of the first issue in the states of, Garden Of Eaton - Bama Boogie Woogie - Cle-An-Thair 45

Does anyone remember if this is a different mix/version to the later version that came out under the name Cleveland Eaton

I have a British copy somewhere, i have just had a look on disogs & the information regarding the the British release names a certain Pete Waterman as A&R co-ordination, so if its " pete burns" mate then it could have been remixed from the original label when it went big.

They must have re-mixed it for the 12", but the 45 sounds generally different somehow to how I remember any of the Cleveland Eaton releases.

On a side note, I spoke to Cleve when I was in Alabama, he is not well at all, fighting cancer. I wanted to talk to him about his time in Chicago working at Chess, but he wasn't up to it.

Great label - Cle An Thair. Once again Ian Levine was the first to bring it to everyone's attention back in the day '74/75 in his Black Music column.
