I do love Jamaican and US labels, mainly because of the imagination and design that goes into them. But here's a mystery to me. Joe Gibbs' Pressure Beat label from the early '70s. I've always been intrigued to know why Joe depicted cartoon characters such as Bugs Bunny on the label. Was he a fan of Looney Tunes / Merrie Melodies, or were they just put on there for the hell of it?
Any ideas, anyone? I could bet a week's wages that permission was not sought to depict these cartoon characters!
