April 25, 201114 yr They are not 1960's original releases. They were custom made in the late 1970's for the Northern Soul scene. The earlier genuine reissue MGM Special Products, had more detail on them than these, I think they are bootlegs!
April 26, 201114 yr Author ok cheers folks, by the way does anybody know if the blue v was made in the usa or the uk?
April 26, 201114 yr Hi All....A good question???? some things need sorting over a long length of time, this and similar reissues, semi legits, Bootlegs and so on, and needs the input of those who are in the know no! me thinks The Special Products Dept exists on all major and some small record company's, Promotion of any kind is fine by any record company, releasing a old record is easy today than ever, just look at the state of whats been on offer on Eba out & out counterfeit goods, when GODS dog was a pup! and all that, Can you remember when Cd's first come out, all the classic stuff that had you collecting for years was on sale in SAFEWAYS, the world was all of a sudden filled with soulfully knowledge, without spending, can you remember PETE SMITH selling 10000 soulsounds fo £20, where does it all go? by that I mean the knowledge, well it's back to School time, the MGM SP first issued a few classics in 1973 , with records by JACKIE FOLLET, DIANE BROOKS, ROBERT BANKS, DOTTIE CAMBRIDGE, Also at the same time, well a few months early the find of all the VERVE MGM stuff on Bradford market kept the demand down and the S Products just distributed to the UK. they are legit. the later blue vinyl MGM come out in 77 i think and the UK was color vinyl nutz also pic cover mad! and the recodes were shabby to look at and are BOOTLEGS, Maybe wrong, but I don't think the are worth anything, spin it over the garden fence and buy a MGM 1st issue or a Demo, DAVE

They aren't great, much better if you can get them on black vinyl. Also available on blue vinyl were Lou Roberts, Carol & Gerri, The Jewels I think also (after it had already been done on black)
