November 25, 201113 yr I've been sat here trying to remember who it was Andy, knew it was her who sang the Airplane Song

July 5, 201212 yr Norma Jenkins - Try Love !!!!!! Not on OLD TOWN!!!!! Or does you mean LaBrenda Ben The topic is about LaBrenda Ben. Norma Jenkins is the same record and is unissued. The Sparkels was the one released on Old Town.
July 6, 201212 yr I didn't know that LaBrenda Ben recorded that song in The Snakepit. Have they really identified a master tape or acetate of that song by her? I do remember seeing the acetate (demo) in The Motown Vaults. As is usual, it didn't have the artist listed. I later found Norma Jenkins sang it. She, (and The Dolls) were fixtures of Jobete Music's New York office, working for George Kerr and Sidney Barnes. Norma Jenkins, Carol Moore, George Kerr, Sidney Barnes, The Serenaders and Sammy Turner sang demos for them.
July 6, 201212 yr She didn't Robb. Like you say it is Norma Jenkins, thnk some getting confused as it was played as LaBrenda Ben I think when none knew who it was.
July 6, 201212 yr It's a pretty well-written song. It would have been a good one for The Dolls to sing. I was always surprised that Kerr didn't have The Dolls sing it during their Maltese run.
Was this unissued? If not, what label is it on and where can I get it?
Cheers,
Samus
