A side plays "Say it"

but B side is stated "Love is not a stranger anymore" but plays "who am I" , on the B side and in the deadwax is brownstone 7071

I had a quick look in previous posts but didn't find anything, just in case I am repeating a thread , sorry

he did a song called "love is not a stranger" I think the label was amber antique its a nice deep soul track

is "who am I" a version of the famous flames ?

In john Ridley's page on John "Rootman" Henry has has in the listing "Say It" backed with "Who Am I" on Brownstone 7071 .. however the Brownstone scan shows the title of "Love Is Not A Stranger Anymore".

You may glean more info here --

Seems like the Dig release may just be the Brownstone press with different labels applied and of course the added "Rootman"

The discography on sirshambling is not correct. Brownstone 7071 is "Who Am I / Love Is Not A Stranger Anymore", with A-7071 and B-7071 respectively on the label. However, in the dead wax A and B is swapped, i.e. 7071-B and 7071-A, respectively. The mistake is copied to the Dig release, which has 7071-B on label and dead wax for "Love Is Not A Stranger Anymore", which actually plays "Who Am I".

Cheers for that, clears that up. I thought it odd why the listing and scan didn't agree.

Thanks for the scans

I really enjoy your specific, knowledgeable posts and the depth of your collection.

I just had a quick look at Johns site and noticed that John henry also did a version of "let them talk" as well so he did enjoy doing covers.

I'm pretty sure that Dig 906 also exists with a 'Who Am I?' label, rather than 'Love Is Not A Stranger Anymore'. Not only that, I'm pretty sure too that I have a copy of that particular pressing. Can't find either a scan or my copy to corroborate that at the moment, though... :(

Well just added it for sale, please look at ebay sales, 99p :-)

Agree Tony. You're right. I just found my Dig copy with 'WHO AM I' on the flip of 'SAY IT'.

Good double sider (IMO).

Sean

And just found I have 2 copies of the Amber Antique release of 'SAY IT' backed with 'LOVE IS NOT A STRANGER'.

Sweet!

Sean
