I'd like to make it clear that I didn't wish to cause any embarrassment to Colin Curtis when I started the CD thread. Like I said I have lots of respect for the guy, he was the main reason I went to the Highland Room week in week out. I still feel its an unwelcome development though.

It was just very surprising to see CD decks at a major allnighter and I'm still wondering if iPod playlists will be the next development - no difference IMO. It could be symptomatic of having lived in Australia for 20 years where there is still no commercial driver behind NS promotion - nobody gets paid (unless a pint of bitter counts) and nobody cares about profits. Its all done for the love of the music.

So if Colin has followed any of this, apologies for any embarrassment I've inadvertently caused.
