This double header on RCA was c 1977 and something I think Richard Searling may have had a hand in getting out, as he was at RCA and these were both monsters at Wigan etc at the time. I thought Interplay was a type of crime / mystery TV show originally from Detroit.

Mike McDonald was not issued in the UK on RCA prior to this (and yes I do like it).

Interplay I seem to recall did come out in Europe in the 60's, but I cannot recall whether it was UK or not without checking my files Maybe one of the UK experts and either shoot me down in flames or verify. I should add that I cannot stand this piece of crapola hence a mental blind spot.

BTW - US release of Interplay has the better flip 'Dragnet '67' - also played by RS at the Casino

Actually I thought it was the B-side of the US issue, "Dragnet" that was the TV crime theme? Interplay was composed by the tinkling two, under their full names Derek Cohen and Ray Smith. Released in the US in 1967.

Mike McDonald dates from 1970.

The 1977 release was the first UK release for either side. As well as seeing it with the orange RCA label, I've also seen issues with the black label, which may indicate that it was still being pressed as late as 1979-1980.

Dinah Lee was a genuine blue eyed femme (Aussie/NZ) soul / r n b singer (better vocal talent than Lynne Randell !)

Sorry to laugh but I've heard most of Dinah Lee's records and they are uniformally awful. Her version of Pushing A Good Thing Too Far is a joke, and to say her version of Bobby Goldsboro is better than the original is just madness. I'll send this up if I can find the tape.
