Firstly, this is nothing against the seller, I have no issues about it being sent. I have details of the package being sent from Spain on 30 July

Checking the shipping reference it advises

'04/08/2012 Delivery to the destination international office'

This I understand means it is in the UK.

Just looking for advice on the best way forward with the post office?

Went to my local sorting office last week who just gave me a customer service number, which seemed to just have recorded messages for various scenarios. Have filled out a couple of 'missing post' forms on the website but not had a reply yet.

Gonna go back to the sorting office tomorrow, but does anyone know if overseas packages are tracked once in the UK. The reference is 13 characters, similar to a UK recorded/special delivery item

Thanks

Mike

i'm not in the UK so i don't know how this works, but did you try contacting / dealing with customs?

Not yet Bob. Wasn't a particularly expensive record so didn't think would be the case, but I will ask when I visit the sorting office in a bit.

It has only.just exceeded the 20 days they say to allow for incoming international items.

Sure I have read before that packages sent from abroad to UK recorded are not trackable once here so I suppose I was seeing if anyone clarified this. If so, will have to just wait & see

I'm not 100% sure on this (I am possibly mis-remembering), but I think that when I send registered to the UK I can track it until entry in the UK via the USPS website. Once in the UK you can track it using the same number off the UK website. I could possibly be wrong, but did you try doing that? Thanks.

Someone who works for the post office has stolen it, same as they did with my Troy Dodds on El Camino.

Records are easy to spot and the stupid system of tracking to destination country then not again until it is signed for, allows whoever it is that is stealing records to pick out the expensive ones that are tracked in this way and steal them.

In my experience the post office will not do anything about it.

Report it as stolen to the Police?

Cheers all. Didn't get a chance to get to the post office, but will make enquiries tomorrow.

Years ago a package took a couple of months, but not holding out too much hope on this occasion

Thankfully, the 45 dropped through the door today, so all good.

Must have just been sitting in some sorting office somewhere. Nothing untoward or giveaways on the packaging.

Many thanks for your input though gents
