Discussion on another forum about Dalton-James- Sutton "Run Baby"

Can anybody help me win a pint of Ben Truman or Worthington E?

"after all these years I still have this in my DJ BOX ohmy.gif , one hell of a pill enduced all-nighter tune, deffo not a soul record...50p from Moondog Records wink.gif

My best mate is convinced it was an Alan Day tune (c/u as Johnny Sales) from the late days at the Torch though those that I respect on here insist it was an early Casino tune Circa 1973"

"Run Run Baby" The Marshall Brothers or something similar, springs to mind from early Wigan.

Paul

Run Baby - Dalton, James & Sutton - white label - escapes me

Definitely played at wigan by Alan Rhodes or R Searling c1977/78

Great uptempo dancer - guitar influenced tune - very white!

Paul, you should stop being so modest - go for a can of Party Seven instead!

I know the record, and I'm sure it was played at the casino. I will ask Alan he still has a good memory if not all his records :fool: mind you they are in good hands . Last time I saw him ( a couple of weeks ago) he reckoned he wanted to make a come back, not to sure about that he was brilliant at the Torch and very generous behind the counter at Selecta Disc

Never knew he worked at Selecta. Quite a few well known soulies passed through there I guess.

Marshall brothers-run Baby, thought it was played often by Sam,

remember it from Wigan,Whitchurch ,Top Rank Hanley(saturday nights) don´t recall it at the Torch though

Steve.

Guy played it last year at a "wigan play " after show party

Dreadful tune in the 70s , even worse now .
