November 15, 201212 yr The green sleeve was first used in the early 70s for ABC releases. Just checked on the 45-sleeves web site and the green sleeve was used from 1974 (#12012) to 1979 (#12469). Edited November 16, 201212 yr by the yank
November 16, 201212 yr If you've ever looked through store stock, records have been put in all sorts of different sleeves, even if they're as they came from the company. They will use whatever old sleeves they have, stuff is even in sleeves from different companies, etc. They weren't like special collectibles being sold to the public, it was just music and they needed something to put the records in.
