Day off yesterday - did the charity shops.. . few bits and bobs. Came across

Sweet Geraldine - Brainstorm ( Magic City ) Red / Yellow Magic City 45

I assume its a boot ? Great tune tho . . and its one of a handful of decent 45s I've ever found in a chazzer shop anyway..

Any info gratefully appreciated.

Paid peanuts .. 50p . . Am usually keen on spotting boots / etc but having never seen that design etc not sure if it got re-pressed / etc.

Crackin record that I may well keep ... I did pick up a Best of Stylistics LP too if thats any good......

Thanks for that - Make Love is the flip on mine. As to if its been booted I'm in the dark - first one I've ever come across. Anybody any info? And who is sweet geraldine?

Don't think it was ever booted - great record that it is - was a last hour tune from The Mecca in '75 - played by Colin Curtis. Very rarely seen - you are a lucky boy.

Thanks for the info , I didn't know it came out twice. Mine has "Have Myself Ah Cry" (correct 'ah' spelling) on the flip, which sounds like a girly Motown sound - so it can be a bit ....annoying.

hi maria---yep came out twice--and i think none of them are boots--genuine-- go on hitsville site alan pollard has done a write up on this tune---he is also on this site and has a wealth of knowledge re the detroit stuff-------perhaps he can help us with this or maybe dave moore could assist-------------------jo
