I was reading about Clarence Jackson's, If The Shoe Don't Fit, on the forgotten oldies thread and it got me wondering. ranting_1.gif

I bought this a while back off Ebay, after hearing it one evening at These Old Shoes. It wasn't until after I bought it that I found I already had it on CD (Goldmines - Wigan Casino 25th Anniversary). Anyway what I'd like is can anyone confirm that this is an original, just seemed to me that it doesn't sound like a 1974 release (does that make sense? ), thanks.

Also I've posted up a soundfile in the gallery for people to listen to. >> Click Here <<

Hiya,

Yes, you have an original Demo. Record was issued in 1974 on Valtone which is when I bought my copy. Issues are orange.

The reason is sounds 1960s is because it is. The track was originally recorded as "You Got It and I Want It" by Andre Williams on the Ric Tic label. Another forgotten oldie!

Both are very good records.

Cheers,

John.

Had a lot of these years ago and they were all off center, I was never sure if they were boots or not, haven't had one for years though.

I'm sure JA at Soul Bowl had soemthing to do with this. Big record 1975/76 at The Wirrrina for yours truly.

Instrumental seemed to get lots of plays at Cleethorpes / Samanthas, never understood the fascination with instumentals at the time when the vocal was usually better.

Third Time around, Kim Tolliver, Boogie Man Orch etc...

That's funny, I could never get over the fascination with Disco records at a "Northern" night. There were hundreds of clubs that you could listen to this type of thing in

Nice one mate!

Good record this and, if you read my previous posts, not a "disco record". Whatever that means!
