i ask this question simply because of

item # 9114470546 .... which clearly states by the seller

( who is a respected and well know member of soul source, yet complains about e-bay )

i quote " NEVER IN SHOPS OR RELEASED OFFICIALLY "

does this mean BOOTLEG !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

also the description states that this has been compiled by himself from various

tv programmes , news , etc .......which as far as im aware is against e-bay policy

and infringes on copyright laws...or was permission granted for use of said material

on a personal level , i couldnt give a monkeys chuff whats sold on e-bay

you pay ya money and you take ya chance !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

so i only have one question to seller / member which is

WHY HAVE YOU THE RIGHT TO COMPLAIN ABOUT ANYTHING WHEN

sorry, i can't find the item you're on about - a link would be good, the item number comes up with some japanese cartoon vids from the states?

however (and mike will have to confirm this), i think i'm right in saying that the site generally doesn't seek to police everybody, anywhere in the world, selling anything, at any time.

all it does is say you can't advertise bootlegs on the site, which realistically is all it can do.

as far as i can tell from your post, this item and the ebay link are not advertised on the site?

the anti-bootleg posts which appear from time to time are the personal views of members, not that of the site (though the site might well agree).

He's talking about my dvd compilations, and he can f*** off, the precise reason I sell them is because they aren't available in the shops because they've never been released. If you've come on here just to try and make trouble you'll get booted in to touch pretty quickly.

So what exactly do people like you get out of trying to make problems for others eh? What are you trying to achieve by this post apart from making yourself look like the class sneak. Even Mike has told me I can sell the dvd's on here because they aren't bootlegs. I complain about ebay when I see my friends being ripped off and try to stop it.

You're a desperate man trying to grab a little bit of attention and thanks to you I've just sold the dvd's so cheers for that. If the rest get cancelled, we'll know who's done it.

Do any of the people who've had dvd's off me in the past think I've ripped them off??? At £5 each for stuff you can't get anywhere else. And how would one obtain copyright for a 5 minute clip from a tv station, broadcast 20 years ago, when the tv channel doesn't exist anymore and my video is probably the only existing archive clip?

Maybe, but there is also too much pointless politics, name calling, & slagging off. It's supposed to be a discussion forum, but many good discussions degenerate into crap. As for double standards, bootlegs are frowned upon, but it's alright if one DJ "cuts an acetate" of a rarity for another to play, we used to call them emidiscs.

Just my, probably wrong, opinion though.

Er, you obviously don't otherwise you wouldn't have put this topic up in the first place and once again, I have to ask - why me - I'm starting to get a bit of a persecution complex here. Notice nobody complains when I post unreleased tracks up. Double standards - you bet.

And another thing. I was on a promise tonight, first time we've had a babysitter for 2 weeks, this has completely put me off altogether so Taylormadesoul, you can explain to my missus why I don't fancy her tonight, and it's not because she's actually put on weight since she had the baby

this is a personal view, not site's, but i think you'll find most people aren't too bothered about this dvd. as pete says, he probably couldn't get the copyrights if he wanted to.

where bootlegging's concerned, i imagine most people on here (those who do care, which you say you don't) don't like people ripping off impoverished artists with bootleg cds or records for which no royalties are paid (or soulies, where they knock out lookalike boots).
