“River Deep Mountain High” Instrumental

Does any enlightened member out there know if there is a vinyl recording of the actual backing track to this record. I’m sure I heard it played out an all-nighter in Leeds in 1974 (what a memory senile dementia has not quiet set in yet). I know about the Les McCann version which doesn’t compare with the Ike & Tina version.

I’m a bit of a sucker for instrumentals and must say I’m a bit of loss on this one.

Maybe it’s just my imagination.

Best,

Ian

There's a huge amount of Spector backing tracks and outtakes floating around, I had at least 100, don't have many of them now but I can easily find them again and check if that's there.

If you wouldn't mind Pete,

I could then maybe get a vinyl carver of it.

Hi Pete,

A challenge for you then, if you can find it I might even buy something off you LOL.

Ian

Wasn't it played off a budget LP with a pink cover with geometric shapes  (Detroit Sounds ???) - seem to think Nathan Jones was also on it .

les mccann, mercury release on 7 and lp, very mod and played torch & wheel era, great jazzy twist, exemplary of les.

It's definitely not Les McCann, says so in original post!
