Ashfords - How Related?

Arthur Ashford, Nick Ashford, Jack Ashford....

 

I see all the names and know snippets of info (I read about Jack in the Pied Piper article here - and I know the others were vocalists)....but are they all from the same family? Anyone know the story?

Nick was born in Fairfield, South Carolina  and Jack was from Philly. If they are related- I think it would be distantly.

I'm not sure where Arthur fits in.

Not related as far as I know. Nick did grow up in Michigan but as "the yank" says he wasn't born there.

Arthur Ashford member of The Precisions? Don't believe he was related to either......

I never heard that any of the three were related to each other.  It's a pretty common name in English-speaking countries, and among African Americans.
