Seems the tour ran from 17th October to 27th November 1964 and took in a few venues in 'Gods Country' as well ...........

.... Sheffield, Huddersfield, Leeds, Hull, Dony + a few near-by spots (Chesterfield, Cleethorpes, Nottingham, Mancaster)

yes John quite widely reported at the time. She was actually struck coming out of the Theatre post show so that report is not quite right. She had to go to hospital with cuts and bruises after being hit by one of the "silent killers". She was soon back in action though and only missed one or two dates on her tour which took in everywhere from east Ham and Eastbourne to Tunbridge Wells and of course Glasgow.....

I had this recently sent in to site via email from Ian D

I could not find another way on the site to contact you. I am offering this as a correction to the post(s) in 2013 stating that Dionne Warwick was hit by a trolley bus after a concert in Glasgow on November 9th 1964.

The post stated that she was on her way out of the theatre after the concert but this is just not so. My girlfriend, now wife, and I were in the lobby trying to get in to the concert when Dionne was carried in after being hit. She was taken into the Odeon and, I assume, taken to hospital from there.

The concert continued in front of a very small audience, reduced dramatically by the very thick fog. The Searchers took the lead and explained that the show would go on with each act doing extra songs.

As you can imagine, they gave it their all and it was a fabulous concert.

I walked my girlfriend home as buses had stopped running. It was the first time that I got to meet her parents.

In the early hours of the morning I walked about 5 of the 7 miles home when bus stopped for me and took me the last 2 miles home.

Wonder what extra songs the Isley Brothers added to their usual show that night ?

I guess it can't have been an easy task as no doubt the backing musicians they had on the tour would only have learnt a few songs by them.
