We haven't spot lighted our charity on soul source until today and after holding our second event yesterday at the kellingley soul club in knottingley West Yorkshire , which went down brilliant again , I would like to publicly thank the d js who travelled from around the country to support us , Nick turvey from Banbury Internet radio , Eddie Swoz from Wolverhampton , wiganelli , Paul Atkinson from vixen fm , Martin smith from inner soul Sheffield , vic Hankins from Harrogate soul club , mally from Leeds , jimmy Walsh from Crewe , our resident d js and last but not least the great guy called Sooty who I met for the first time on Saturday who left today as a lifetime friend , great stuff to all the guys , as about us , we raise money to give every penny to professor Norman maitland at York Uni who is the worlds leading man on stem cell research on prostrate cancer , and in his words if he cracks that then the rest will fall into place , and let me tell u they are knocking on the door , so if anybody is interested in helping us look us up on our website " charitysoul uk . You have every right and reason to announce the launch & arrival of Charity Soul and it's intentions Toc on behalf of us all....and be PROUD about it....all of you.....I reckon...X

 

Listen up.....I took deserving time out....it cost me about £2k in cash and having to say i'm not available to several key folk/friends business wise as it is me they need not any of me services. Therefore I don't invest my 'chill-out' time on bo**ox...or dipsticks...I can't...X After we spoke for the first time....and you came across with your groups passion and dedication to raise money in a co-ordinated fashion....for a very worthwhile cause... friend.......I heard you......and your sincerity...and I wouldn't have been anywhere else this week-end to support such intentions and folk...after being invited...X 

 

The returns i've got from my investment go beyond dosh....it always has....and it is what made my Promotions successful in the 90's...every one of them....all done with Soul.....end of. You all have that....individually and as a collective. ALL of the 9 clubs and 12 others that joined our network back in the 90's had the same.....I hand picked them.....this mate...I walked into ready done........FANTASTIC....X Toc...I was 'at home'...and really appreciated the welcome home....X It went beyond my first beginnings as a DJ/Promoter in Cambridge 1993....which took me back to my arrival in Cambridge as a kid listening to Northern in '75. But....I was born in 'ull in '61...Yakshire. How far did you all want to take me back down memory lane?!x Job done....I feel a Yorkshire man again....thank you ALL...X 

 

For those 'hard core' that travelled from Manchester...the Hollinwood crew from Oldham...the Wigan Warriors....Geordie jesters...and those who waltzed in after the Kings Hall A/N to say hi...including Rob Smith and his Mam(X)........none of whom i'd seen for 13 years.....and who made that special effort to come to the doo to specifically share a hug after all these years.......well......our many nights of happness spent together were 'real'..I have figured...X

It's as if we had never parted.......THANK YOU for your sincere friendship that has stood the test of time...X Matchy.....to have you on the floor from start to finish during me spot.....friend.....I welled up......and it made it all worthwhile for me whatever effort/sacrifice I may have made to be there and share the floor with you again....true love mate...X

 

Then 2 real 'quality' folk whom I shared both nights and days with from Wolverhampton...Eddie Swaz....and.....'LEGEND'....who was in full traditional kit.....no words need to be said as it was a...'we sos there' week-end...XX A sincere thanx for both your company and new found friendships....XX And 'Legend'......hey mate......you own that word in my book from now on.....and u made me smile sincerely all week-end...wide bags...flags and badges in tow......thank you....!X (Bit slacking on putting the market stall away on Sunday before the gig tho' guys....we'll sort that for December....!hehe!)x

I've read all in these forums since I became 'active' a few months ago. For folk to take my comment serious...I need to take you all serious....if i'm gonna get involved....again...Nationally!x No difference to taking on board or listening to anyone who came to talk to me at Nighters/Nights about whatever....back in the 90's. Fortunately me eardrums and hankies are spared that and we have the net....so there's a smarter way of taking on board views and opinions...in a more relaxed manner...and I have.....like I always did. I appreciate all of your inputs and was thoughtful about it all when arriving at Northallerton 6th Anniversary Soul Night on Saturday...unexpectedly! My 1st Northern gig since doing the 30th Wigan Anniversary in late 2003 at Kings Hall when making a film about it....10 years ago! All i've had as input since then is 1 CD of music featuring 27 tunes...of which I knew 2. On top of that...my sole source of input has been YOU...here on Soul Source. I arrived at Northallerton primed with all your comments on current topics such as the latest opinion on tunes out there...and attitudes of promoters....music policy...formats OVO etc lol......and the re-discovery of the scene again lately via Wigan Anniversary's...Telly Docs...and the like and their impact on the scene potentially Nationwide. I present my findings here...for all your perusal and reflection....X

From a business perspective....i'd charge £750 for such an appraisal of a firm or 'outfit'/organisation or scene......yours for free.....X

 

...bu**er....whilst typing i;ve had a call...and got to go for a couple of hours unexpectedly poo!....that's happened a lot the past couple of days! Not like me to have 'surprises' in me life really!x However...I believe as do others that what I have to say will be worth waiting for...X Got footy later....and will be back to 'chill' this evening and will put it all forth then....X To be honest....the above deserves being said in its own right.....it's about people. The rest is about 'business'.....so perhaps best seperated...X

 

To finish off paying my respects to 'the people'...i'd like to say a warm and soulful THANK YOU to Tracey....Toc's wife...X A super host to me and Abs all week-end and indeed ensured Abs wasn't a DJ 'Widow'...before her time!!!x She's already a Nanna at neeeearly 23!!!!hehe!x I looked across from the decks whilst doing me bit....and saw them giggling away together.......and it ensured I focused on the other important people in my life from those decks.......'soulful stuff' Tracey......and we wait to return that friendship and hospitality you showed us during your busy schedule too!!!!x

I finished my set with my signature tune from the 90's....it rammmmmed as always. For me it's an obvious tune.....but.....It ain't always obvious to play it. I chose my moment....and it was then.
