I recall that when I visited Herb Bernstein he had the master tape on his shelf but didn't have any recollections about Elbie

Actually Richard Searling always has this in his box in the mid 70's but I can't ever recall him playing it. I'm surprised it was covered as I thought it was always 'known'.....
